FREE LEASE, located near Ocala, FL: Registered and DNA typed wit SHB(GB) and can be registered with the ATA. Oversized pony, half sister to deceased eventing pony Theodore O’Connor (Rolex, PanAm Gold, almost made Olympic team, yada, yada, yada…) and a slew of other successful eventing ponies and from a family of many top hunter ponies. Sired by Fleetwater Opposition, sire of UK stalwart, multiple team (Olymipcs and WEG) medalist Opposition Buzz, plus high-ranked eventing stallion and Atlanta bronze medalist Yarlands Summersong (and others). Seven-year-old, Trakehner-Thoroughbred-cross, oversized pony, flashy looker: bright bay with white. Was a great mom to a lovely foal by Halimey, now age two and a really great mover with a puppy-dog personality–heavier-boned than she (picture available) and already taller.
“Connie” is ready to do hunters, good for lessons or adult/novice, possibly. Has never gone cross country, but could. Does NOT show big jump, but never actually tested to jump big either. Very easy lead changes and likes to go “long and low” hunter style. Let her relax and she’ll happily plod along prettily forever. With the right supervision, would be competitive walk/trot, but must be managed for occasional marishness that disappears when she is in foal or not season.
A very, very useful mare. Keep her as long as you like, but I wouldn’t mind breeding her again myself some day, too (I have waffled back and forth between selling her and giving her away for two years now. I just really don’t want to lose track of her or access to her, if I can do more breeding in the future.). If you want a mare to breed AND enjoy, and don’t need a big horse, Connie will be a pleasure. Even when she’s in season, she loves to go on trail rides and watch out when you load her because, oddly enough, she also loves to hop in a trailer and much on hay while watching the scenery go by (she will practically knock you over to get in!).
Many, many videos of her from age three to today. They show her “type” very clearly, I think. If someone got her to measure in as a pony, she’d definitely have a place to go in local hunters. All riders, except first hunter pro, were on her for the first time. She knows her lead changes very well, but needs to be asked (with just a tiny bit of aids) because she hasn’t had enough decent course work to anticipate them on her own, if you know what I mean.
