Mare-sharing--free broodmare leases!

2010 15.3hh TB mare. Has competed through preliminary. Sound to ride, just trying to place her for this year instead of letting her sit.

Located in NC but can easily bring to FL or states in between. Incredibly athletic and sweet to be around.

Is this mare still available?

5 yr old TB mare looking for a new job as a broodmare. Available for care lease as a broodmare. Mare is roughly 16.2 and a super sweet girl. Bay with some flashy white and looks like either a Sabino or Rabicano. Mare is currently in St. Louis MO but I am open to leasing out of state.

Editing to add–Located in Northern Kentucky, 2nd edit to update to horses available.

My husband was breeding for the racetrack, but due to a lack of finances on our part (nothing to do with any of the horses’ quality or ability), none of the horses actually made it to the track. We are now downsizing out of his breeding business to only his favorite horses and my, and my son’s, personal horses. We have some for sale, some for permanent rehoming, and a number for broodmare leases while he decides if he’s keeping them or not. We are having financial issues at the moment, and really need to reduce numbers before it reaches the point that we can’t feed them. Please no negative comments to me. It’s not an ideal situation. I am perfectly aware of this.

All the horses are registered Thoroughbreds. I’ll be posting a few in the giveaways section too. Preference is given to people we know, friends of people we know, people known by people we know, long term students of natural horsemanship, and professionals. Homes will be researched. You must have references.

Any horse, for any reason, at any time, in any condition, can come back to us if they don’t work out. And I mean for any reason–don’t like their temperament, you lose your job, they aren’t as tall as you thought, they are too big, you change your mind, they eat too much, seriously, ANY REASON or NO REASON at all.

Here are the ones that are available for free broodmare leases. Links go to their public Facebook album pages with full descriptions and pictures. I can be contacted through the Forums here, Facebook through the album links, or email at alteredhalter@gmail.com. Thank you!

–Tempest Revealed (Revvie)–2011 TB mare, not broke and probably not rideable, best for sport horse breeding, Broodmare lease is preferred, but will consider permanent rehoming to excellent home.

–Heros Chalice (Challah)–2011 TB mare, not broke but would excel in eventing or jumpers, sport horse broodmare. Broodmare lease is preferred, but will consider permanent rehoming to excellent home. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?..1&l=62f7dd3e8c

ISO lipizzan mare to lease. Good home, with excellent vet. Please message info. Referances available.

I still have 2 mares that I am offering for free breeding lease. Located in north central Kentucky. Local transportation available. I am heading from Kentucky to Georgia the weekend of March 30/31, so could deliver them along that route.

Revvie–16.3 h 2011 TB mare. Broodmare only. Free broodmare lease is preferred, but would consider a new permanent home for her. Would make a fantastic broodmare for a dressage horse. Big uphill movement and build. Very lofty trot and rhythmic canter. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155930113680922&type=1&l=b228bd4422

Challah–16.2 h 2011 TB mare. Free broodmare lease is preferred, but would consider a new permanent home for her. Her best direction as a performance horse would be eventing or possibly jumper. She’d love to be an all around horse as well. NOT STARTED UNDER SADDLE. Challah has a strong personality and if going to a permanent new home to start as a riding horse, she would need a strong and experienced leader for the best experience for everyone! LOL! Extremely affectionate and kind, but very athletic. Easy to handle on the ground. Would make fantastic eventer or jumper babies. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10155930116140922&type=1&l=62f7dd3e8c

We have some mares in Belgium that could be leased, daughters of Heartbreaker, Quidam de Revel, etc.

Free Lease as a broodmare only: 7 year old appendix sorrel mare with flashy markings. Has shown USEF, lovely disposition and jumps a 10. She is in Colorado but I am open to re-location. This is only a temporary lease. I would like her back in 3-5 years and so the long-term commitment is all mine. I will only entertain offers for great homes. This is a very special horse and i will have a contract in place to ensure proper care while she serves as a broody.

Very casually ISO free-lease broodmare for 2020 season. Ideally would be smaller warmblood (15.2-16hh) w/good bone and big feet. Must be experienced and safe for pasture breeding, my stallion is sub-fertile and this is the only way I will get a pregnancy. He is kind and gentle, albeit fairly inexperienced, so the bigger hussy she is, the better. Mid-VA area, close to VHC.

2012 OTTB bay mare 15’2" broodmare sound/companion only. First foal 2019 buckskin filly by Milky Way (GRP) took first time; foaled 320 days; great mom. https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/aloha+ke+akua Planned on breeding ponies but loss of pasture makes this not possible. Excellent home only pls, she is a sweetie! Pictures available vet references pls. Located on the Central Coast of California.

Tentatively ISO Friesian mare for the 2020 breeding season. I have an offer for a foal out of a wonderful licensed Oldenburg stallion by Diamond Hit out of Farouche, but am still in the search for a mare to be the chosen dam. I am starting an early search for a kind, level-headed Friesian mare who would be available for a breeding lease (artificial insemination, no live covering). Likely I would not be planning on breeding the mare until late summer or fall 2020. I am open to either an offsite or on-site lease - if offsite, or a free/care lease, the mare would be provided the best of care and would be at a private stable. I am also open to a breeding lease at a breeding stable, dependent upon total cost. Located in Ocala, FL, but willing to travel for the right mare.
The selected stallion is wonderful, level-headed, and has been trained to Grand Prix dressage as well as showing talent in jumping. He passes his black coloring, his wonderful temperament, and his movement onto his foals. I am hoping to raise this foal to become a dressage horse as well as a jumper. Any suggestions or leads welcome!

Tentatively ISO recipient mare for ET in central KY for the 2020 breeding season. Must have had successful pregnancies and ideally would have been bred via ET or at least AI previously.
Must be easy to handle/catch, ok living out 24/7, current on all vaccinations/deworming. Between the ages of 6-12. Horses please, no ponies. Have vet and farrier references. Please PM.

AVAILABLE for the 2022 breeding/2023 foaling season. Registered imported Irish filly Johnnie Merle. 16.1/16.2 bay, her pedigree is very nice for turf. Under lights and will be ready to breed in Feb/March. My biggest goal if for her to go to a wonderful home for about a year - to have a nicely bred foal for her leasee would be a bonus.
