Is anyone else seeing this? I click on the “Mark channel read” at the bottom of the forum, and it marks the threads read (removes the bold unread indicator) but the forum from the main page still shows unread (the blue chat icon doesn’t go white.)
Can’t mark a forum read from the computer or phone. Have tried in the forum and also at the forum group level.
Not a huge deal, but kind of weird? It was working maybe two days ago.
Oh yeah… I’ve seen this for a while. Most often with the Missing Horses forum. A new thread will post, I’ll read it and Mark channel read and life will be good for a while and then it’s back… can’t clear the little icon that implies there are unread posts.
The FAQ forum… it’s shown unread posts forever even though the last post was in early 2017.
I just remember the ‘non-compliant’ forums and ignore their little icon that says there are unread posts 
FWIW, I just cleared the unread posts icon fo Missing Horses (there was a real actual unread post). In a few days or so, it’ll be back showing unread even if that is not the case.
Yeah, I’ve seen that behavior, too–where it doesn’t “stick” despite no new posts. This is a little different. I can’t get the forum marked read AT ALL. 
It sounds like you can, though, so maybe it’s just an oddity on my end. I’ll keep an eye on it…

All of the ones with the ‘funky’ behavior behave as desired for a bit and then have their little brain f*rt
For me, Missing Horses is still showing as read. I’ll try to remember to pay attention every day and post where when it changes back to unread despite no new posts
This one And the whole technical help section. I click the “mark channel read” link and nothing changes. Weird!
Annnnnd now it seems to be working fine. So weird. Spent a couple days clicking that link to mark everything read, with no result, but it seems to be better now. Odd! But okay :lol: Will keep an eye on it!
I also notice that when I look at the list of forums and, for each, the most recently updated post, that really isn’t the most recently updated post but second on the list (ie, there is a more recent post than the one shown in the forums list???
Weird… but definitely 1st world problem for sure :lol:
Hey @Where’sMyWhite can you mark current events read? I can’t. Click the link, forum (on main page) still shows blue. :-/
I tried and it did what I expected which was still showing unread posts. :rolleyes:
For the moment, Missing Horses (?) is still showing all marked but I am expecting in the next few days/week that the icon will go blue and I won’t be able to clear it until there is actually a new post for me to read.
Happens for me on pretty much all the forums that aren’t that active. The active ones have new posts every day so when I mark them read, the icon goes grey.
Missing, Current Events, etc… all the ones that don’t get new posts or don’t get them often do what you describe. I’ve posted on this behavior here but more as anecdotal I just filed it in the mental PITA category 
So today, Missing shows up on the main forum list page as having unread posts but nope, no unread posts and clicking the Mark Channel as Read doesn’t change the little icon on the mail page :rolleyes:
FWIW, this morning the little ‘new posts’ green blob has decided to be green even though we haven’t had a new post in a few days… arrrgggghhhh
Marking the channel as read didn’t reset the blob to not-green.
I saw that too, maybe starting yesterday or the day before? :-/
Haven’t tried marking read, but I’ll do that now.
We might be the only two who care :lol: :lol:
@Simkie maybe we are but it’s also not like it’s a big deal… more a PITA.
I suspect that now there have been posts, the little green blob will be “offf” as it should for at least a while.

Oh, I care too. My need for things to be organized really hates that I can’t always mark the forums as read. The problem ebbs and flows which is strange. Today things are working perfectly fine.
Arrrggghhhh… this morning the icon for new posts turned blue indicating new posts. Nothing new here, move along

Yep, same for me! Started yesterday, I think??? Maybe the day before. And can’t mark the forum read. Why?!

I kinda think it’s funny in a way that it randomly gets stuck on unread posts until an actual new post is added when then marking the channel unread makes like happy again :lol:
Arrgggggg, yesterday this forum decided it had unread posts even though the last post was 6/11
