Mark Laskin Resigns as Canadian Show Jumping Team Chef d'Equipe

Very sad news. The top who knows nothing is running Canada Horse Sport into the ground.

I thought it was interesting that there was pressure from the federation about who should be chosen for teams. I wonder who they were trying to push for.

Ugh. I knew Eventing was having a rough go with the bureaucracy but didn’t realize it Jumping was going there too. Sigh.

All disciplines are under the same leadership/management of EC… it’s sad for all of horse sport in Canada how poorly run this organization is.

Yes I realize they all exist under the EC umbrella (and that no one is happy about that right now). Just meant you could say, “Well, at least Jumping still has their chef, while the Eventers haven’t had any coach in ages.” Until now.

I do freely admit I don’t keep up on the details, but it’s a cluster…

Here is EC’s response - basically, Mark knew what we were doing and quit: https://horsesport.com/horse-news/equestrian-canada-responds-to-mark-laskins-resignation/?fbclid=IwAR1h2GZu3BIoJ2Rbqlw5HlaAvBZYsG0whTw2s8VMIFpNqo0YBaBkOua_yUI

Given EC’s lack of transparency for years, and the recent reveal of similar issues in other disciplines, I would guess most of us feel Mark’s version is closer to the truth.
