Mark Todd may be in trouble

Has any rider ever been eliminated for using the whip after the last fence? I suppose that rule may have been a knee jerk reaction to Le Samurai and window dressing for the Animal Rights faction.

You’d think that in Britain where the whip rules are so specific in racing, thanks to the ARs, someone would have made a fuss.

Napoles, official verbal warnings are recorded and published on the Rider Sanction list.

Clearly, per the rules, there are a range of specified responses, but surely there should be SOME response, even if of the “recorded verbal penalty” variety. Surely discretion doesn’t equate to complete ignoring of an infraction? or does it? I would have thought it was discretion as in which specified penalty to assign, not discretion to just overlook rules infractions – ??

Doesn’t have to be labeled abuse, but it was an instance of a specified misuse of the whip.

Can you point me to the link Viney? I have only ever see the Yellow Cards published to FEI.

If you open the pdf that is the most recent eventing list, you’ll see several verbal warnings.

Lol, I was just coming back to say I had discovered that.
Thank you.
