Martin Clunes: Horsepower

Class 38: Thelwell lookalike

I wish I could see that one.

What an neat horse show! Sounds like every kid has the potential of going home with a ribbon for the pony they love.

I saw the draft horse movie on Netflix and it looks like there are other animal shows with him. I’ll have to search for more horse ones. I was given an old two wheel cart (I’ve heard that it’s much less complicated to start learning using a two wheel versus a four wheel). It motivated me to ask the cart expert next door about what I need to do to fix it up for a donkey/Shetland Pony cart. I think my Morgan is too big for it, but she is trained.

If horse collars weren’t so expensive, I would get the donkey to help us plow the garden. The cart requires a different type of harness, but plowing should be done using a collar.

Thanks to all for recommending the Heavy Horsepower episode. Watched it last night and really enjoyed it.

Any other Netflix recommendations? Extra credit for equine-related shows.

My recommendation: whatever you do, don’t bother with Rodeo Girl. That’s an hour and a half of my life I won’t get back.

The same actor did a dog series, too. It was interesting. The segment on the weird wolf owner guy from England? Bizarre. Crazy man breaks up his wolves when they fight by shoving his HEAD in between them. Even Clunes was shocked by this level of crazy. Not sure I would have shown that little tidbit to folks watching at home…

When that CWG called his wolves by howling, every dog in my house came to me with a look of - What was that? What do you want???

So we HAD to do a Mandatory pet-the-dogs session.
