Martingale/girth clip???

This might be a silly question… but WHERE can I buy a clip that I can attach to my standing martingale so that I can clip it onto my mare’s girth. It would be so much easier to do this than to undo her girth to remove the martingale after her over fences classes this summer since she gets annoyed with the unbuckling and rebuilding of the girth for flat classes…

Coach told me to grab one at a tack store and our local store looked at me like I had two heads when I tried explaining what I wanted… any online stores that sell something for this purpose?

Ive checked local hardware store and wasn’t happy with what I found…

What about a small carabiner clip?

The Breastplate snap is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks Hound Dog I’m ordering one right now!
Thanks Man in Black too, but the ones I found didn’t fit as nicely and discretely as I had hoped.

Home Depot, Rona, any of those type of stores carry these clips and they’re cheaper than tack stores!

And how exactly are you going to attach the clip to the martingale?

You can buy replacement halter snaps that have a screw-together loop so that you don’t need to do any stitching to get it onto your halter after the old snap broke. It would work for a martingale just fine. The only question is if you can adjust the martingale short enough with the snap attachment (you’re going to have to move the buckle around 12" up the strap). If you can’t, you need to have the leather cut down and restitched anyway and any snap can be added at that time.

I did this a few years ago, got the clip at the local tack shop then had to measure it to see where it would need to be attached (you get a lot of extra length from the girth loop part!). I took it to a leather repair guy I had used before and told him where I wanted it and he did a great job. I also had him loop it over to the outside for the stitching, so that it wouldn’t rub my sensitive mare’s belly

Just coming back with an update; I received my breastplate snaps in the mail. I unthreaded the martingale loop that goes over the girth and put the snap there, redid the Martingale up and we are good to go!

No need to have my leather cut/restitched! Thanks for all of the replies; highly recommend the breastplate snaps as they are made the same width as the martingale (no extra clunky hardware) and are tiny enough to not be noticed when done up.
