Yep I made the “mistake” of getting fitted for a new helmet… current helmet is beyond the 5 year mark. Sooo I wander in cause well it’s one of my favorites and just happens to be in a prime location. Eye the helmets… do I really like the black sparkling one? Or remain my conservative traditionalist self? Traditionalist is winning as they don’t seem to have it in my size… so let’s just try the BLUE sparkles on - just for sizing… Oh my days another fitter… looks great - the blue really brings out your eyes… at this stage fit and safety are secondary ( ok it’s very comfy and meets all my safety requirements) nuff about safety back to showing off my baby blues! The heck with tradition as I leave with my purchase to scout out that vest at Arista that’s going to look amazing with my new Blue helmet. Fair hill saddlery is the best! Fortunately for my wallet they’re too far away
If this were any professional sport, he would have been taken out of the remainder of the game and not allowed to compete for at least two weeks (depending on the sport). Horse sports are decades behind when it comes to concussion protocol.
Congrats! Sounds perfect!

Were you the treating medical personnel? I’m only going on what I’ve heard from multiple sources. Even if he didn’t lose consciousness, it’s still concerning that he fell twice and was NQR.
Why are you personally attacking me?
As previously stated, I did not. Did you? Were you in the barns? I was.
I’m not attacking you. I’m providing actual information. You’ve formed an opinion that is wildly inaccurate and you’re pushing your agenda on a public forum.
I’ve experienced FEI protocol firsthand several times. For anyone who does not have FEI exposure, I think it’s important to know that these matters are handled very diligently, without prejudice. Isn’t that what you’re fighting hard for?
You literally wrote
Seriously, I don’t know why you get off on verbally abusing people like that.
He’s showing on the Medical Suspension list on USEF now, so clearly someone is concerned there was unconsciousness/concussion.
He’s in France. Pau dressage is set to start Thursday. I guess we’ll see.
He posted a video of quite a lovely jump school on Bruno in France yesterday, too. I worry less about his current abilities and more about if he were to have another fall there. See a poster above’s story about a girl who had the world’s slowest fall 10 days after a concussion, but it was still enough to drop her minutes later.
Does the USEF transfer to FEI? Honest question because I don’t know.
I should also clarify, after the second fall I have zero insight other than his recount of what happened.
Edited for clarity.
Yeah I don’t know. I know that FEI goes down to USEF but not the other way.
Medical suspension means they had a fall and were not signed off by medical personnel to continue. Unsure if it translates to the FEI but probably not. Boyd has never been one to make the best decisions on his body…
Apologies if it’s been posted, but the Maryland Public TV youtube channel has the full 5* cross country up!
Really enjoyed the Equiratings review show. Insight from David Doel on his weekend.
I don’t see him on the USEF Medical Suspension list.
I went for the first time since it’s been the 5*, brought my non-horsey boyfriend, and we both had a really good time. It would have been nice to see more go, but we just aimed to get there earlier next time to see the 3*. I would have liked more space for the shopping, it was pretty crowded, but I did like that it was easy to find everything.
He was on there as of yesterday with a start date of 10/19. I no longer see him on the list.
