If you are anywhere near Loch Moy farm in Adamstown Maryland this weekend I urge you to come check out the Maryland International. They are running training all the way up to the inaugural running of their 4 star. Having a 4 star here has been a goal of theirs from their inception so it’s wonderful to see it becoming a reality. The property is beautiful and the facilities are world class. I will be here as a vendor all weekend so if you make it here come say hello!
My DH and I will be volunteering tomorrow as “video jump judges” – the orientation meeting (with Gretchen Butts and Cindy DePorter) is at 7:30 tomorrow morning, and I’m sure they’ll go over all the specifics.
My guess is that we will be videotaping all the riders at our jump in case there are issues that need to be checked out by the TD or the POGJ. Very exciting!! SO glad that Carolyn got this 4* - nobody works harder at making improvements and prioritizing competitors (and volunteers! )
Yes that is definitely the job description for video jump judging. They usually put you in a position where you can get the whole approach and landing. There is usually a regular jump judge at the fence as well since it’s hard to actually judge and video at the same time.
That’s what I figured!
It should be interesting - no matter what happens! Hoping that the footing is good, and that they get everyone’s rides in before the thunderstorms.
I am running XC control there this weekend. The courses look great. Beautifully presented, excellently built. The show jumping was a great test by Chris Bernard. I think considering it’s July, the footing looks good. Shaping up for a beautiful weekend of sport. Good luck to all and a big thank you to the volunteers
Wonderful! I think they’ve gotten some nice rain up there, and the footing is reliably very good regardless – though we certainly can use all the rain we can get.
Can’t wait to see how it goes for everyone, I’m sure it will be fantastic - worth the 4:45 wake up call
Good luck! Stop by the vendors if you get a chance
Anyone have a link to course maps?
