There are several Sporting Clay Tournaments hosted in the coming weeks! We hope you will encourage your hunt to form a team(s) to compete, or register the shooting enthusiast in your family!

Wow! While not a fox hunter, I do love sporting clays. Are ‘outsiders’ able to participate? In any event, PG County Trap and Skeet is worlds of fun!!!

Speaking for NMMVH, “outsiders” are welcomed and encouraged! Shooters do not need to be associated with horses/hounds/hunt clubs in any way!!! The joy of clay shooting is the only necessity!
Our shoot is based on a beautiful farm, which previously served as the “set” for a well known Civil War movie. It’s a charming location with lovely cover, historic stone walls, rolling terrain, complete rural character and near a Civil War battlefield!

Wish I were close enough to participate, great idea! My husband and I enjoyed the PG County facility a few decades ago!

Yes! For any of the aforementioned events outsiders are strongly encouraged to participate! You can register as an individual, form a team with friends, or we can help you form a team!

To participate in the “Foxhunters Challenge” portion of the event at least 2 members of each team should be affiliated with a hunt club, however.

I am interested, but I have a question, I know that Maryland has very strict gun laws, and it is my understanding that you cannot transport firearms in or out of Maryland legally, is this true, and if not can you cite the law. Thank You

The law does not apply for shotguns/rifles.

…also from the website:

“Rifles and shotguns being transported in motor vehicles must be unloaded.”

I’m not a shooter, so not sure if this is a commonly understood practice or not, but seems to make logical sense.

You will want to check your home state for any additional restrictions/laws.
