This is horrifying. Any Massachusetts people who know of ANYONE who bought a Cocker or a King Charles in the past year or so, please ask them WHO sold them the dog and ask them to report to the Norfolk Police Department if they have any suspicions. This sounds like an evil backyard, puppy-mill breeder who is killing off his “excess” dogs.
I bet the breeder has puppies advertised on CL up there. Or had in the past. If someone can use wayback, maybe they can track the breeder that way…
I can’t access the link, would you be able to give me some info. I am in MA and know lots of dog people (competed in Agility for several years). Also know to people with KCC purchased in the last year.

PRESS RELEASE (updated- additional dogs and reward)
At approximately 12:15 AM on 3/3/15 two dogs were allegedly abandoned near the Pond Street Recreational Complex in Norfolk. The Norfolk Police Department and the Norfolk Animal Control Department are seeking any and all information relative to these dogs origin.
The first dog was rescued at 12:30 AM and brought to the veterinarian for critical care injuries and neglect. This dog is described as an intact male King Charles Cavalier type, black and brown in color and approximately 5 years old. This dog suffered extensive injury prior to being picked up and was humanely euthanized at the veterinarian.
The second dog was rescued at 7:30 AM from the woods in the same area and also brought to the veterinarian for care and treatment for neglect. This dog is described as an intact male Cocker Spaniel, black in color and approximately 3-4 years old.
Through the course of our investigation we have reason to believe that there may be more animals that have been abandoned in the metro west area. There is a female cocker that was picked up by Milford Animal Control within the past month that shows a familial resemblance and this morning two more cockers with familial resemblance were found deceased off the side of a rural road in Millis, a neighboring jurisdiction to Norfolk. Preliminary findings suggest that the animals were placed there post mortem.
At this time Norfolk Animal Control is offering a $1000.00 reward for information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction of the individual(s) responsible. The Town of Norfolk is working in conjunction with the Animal Rescue League of Boston on this investigation, Milford Animal Control and Millis Animal Control.
We are reaching out to the public in hopes to ascertain who owned these animals. The investigation has led us to believe that these animals were used for breeding locally and placed for sale to the public at one point. We are interested in hearing from anyone with any information on those who may be breeding Cocker Spaniels, King Charles Cavaliers and Cockaliers.
The first picture is of the dog found in Milford abandoned, the second one is “Marley” from Norfolk (before picture and after picture is Picture 3), the fourth dog is the king charles cavalier type dog who unfortunately did not make it. We are withholding the photos on the two new dogs found today due to their graphic nature. One was black with a white chest and the other was a apricot or dark buff.
If anyone has any information regarding who owned these animals please contact the Norfolk Police Department at (508) 528 3206. For further information please contact Animal Control Officer and Special Police Officer, Hilary Cohen.
Thank you trubandloki. A special place in hell for people like this…I will pass along to all my dog friends.
Thanks, trub and glori. It is just sickening.
