Massanutten in Virginia

I am at the beginning stages of planning a little horse vacation for myself and possibly a few friends. I am looking for any information on horse accomodations and good trail riding places close to Massanutten Resort in Virgina.

I have a timeshare at Massanutten and would like to be able to use that as the people lodging.

Years ago my neighbor, who also owns a timeshare there, told me that he would ‘board’ his horse at the stables right near the Visitor Center (the same place that does the head-to-butt 1-hour trail rides). He would then trailer out to various trails during the week he was there. I will be calling there shortly even though they don’t advertise boarding options. Has anyone else stayed at Massanutten and boarded their horses there or in close proximity?

I am also starting to research the best places to trail ride in the area (with easy access trailer parking). Suggestions?

when I went there in 2007 there was a stable that provided trail rides. It was right across from the main center. I did not ride but drove by it.
I bet if you pay the right price they will board on a temp basis while you were at the resort

Yes, you can board there. You have to call Woodstone in advance to make arrangements.
