Masterson Method

I just started using the Masterson Method on all of my horses and it seems to be bringing positive results! I’ve only done one or two sessions with each horse.

I was wondering if anyone else has tried this, and what the results were, and how long you’ve been doing it?

I have used some of the methods with my horse that was SUPER body sore. He responded very well. They were super helpful when I contacted them about a specific issue and looking for a good stretch that would help. They directed me to a couple of their U tube videos.

I use some of it on and off with my gelding. I do believe that it works, unfortunately his owner lacks follow through.

I’ve used it as well and had a certified person come out. I actually had two people come out at different times and both went about the session very differently. One did the stretches and the other person just went along the bladder meridian. I saw better results with the person who did the bladder meridian and the stretches.

I’ve been using it for years. Very helpful with my gelding who holds a lot of tension, especially in his poll. I love his books and CDs as they are so clear.

I received the book and DVD for Christmas a few years ago and started doing it a bit with my gelding with positive results. I see the best results now that I have a certified MM who comes out regularly (6-8 wks), though. I do minor maintenance in-between, but can’t work on him as long and as well as she does! My horse LOVES Masterson and starts releasing immediately.

I used the TMJ release on a horse with head shaking syndrome and it seemed to help a little. I am currently doing the TMJ release (along with some stretches) with my mini, who carries a lot of tension in his topline and see a huge difference. The first time I attempted it with the mini, he surprised me with a very large reaction, then he fell asleep for the afternoon.

Has anyone taken one of the weekend courses?

I have the book and DVD, and usually just do the bladder meridians. My new baby loved it the first time I did it. She got all dopy and just buckled her knees and rolled (we were in the arena) then got up and sidled over to let me finish.

My 5 yo seems to get bored though, so it’s hard to get her to get into it and give good releases.

I’ve had a MM practitioner work on my two horses a couple of times. It has helped them a lot.
