Masterston Method bladder meridian extreme reaction

Has anyone had their horse give them a really extreme response when doing the bladder meridian process?

This for those unfamiliar:

My TB came up lame the other day after stepping on himself (Left Front) and since I couldn’t ride him for a few days I was doing grooming and massage and this type of work because he likes it, and usually does have a few tension releases. His reactions range from a blink to stepping aside, sometimes stomping around for a moment or a head toss but then relaxing.

This time, his reaction to the spot 10-12" back from his ears he started tossing his head up and down, then bending around to me, around my body. I had to take him off the crossties, and he continued to toss, stomp, march around the barn, and to bend his neck around as if we were doing carrot stretches. When I removed my hands from the area he stopped. The reaction on the right side was not as big, but similar. Clearly he was stuck, or tense or something. He looked like he was trying to chiro himself. This was his reaction Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning. Monday evening it was less. He was getting less sore in his foot as well.

This morning, when he was also sound, he just took a nap as I ran my hands down the whole line. No reaction to any part.

Are there direct correlations between spots on the meridian and other body parts?

It was just curious to me that he was so opinionated about it when his foot hurt I wondered if anyone else had similar experiences.

Well, I would say that my first thought is that his neck hurts.

There are some acupuncture points in the neck associated with front feet.

Scribbler that’s what I thought as well that the feet were a separate issue and he needed his neck adjusted. But when the lameness abated at the same time it made me wonder.

Well, neck pain can cause lameness, certainly that’s what people report of cervical arthritis in horses.

Does sound like you may have two separate problems there to investigate.

May have injured both at the same time also, if it took a bad step and strained to regain it’s feet, or hit something and maybe now is getting over both at the same time?

There are association points for all the other meridians on the bladder meridian.
