Has anyone had any experience with a Max Flex electric fence kit. It seems to have everything including a fence charger and is just over $200. It has 660’ of tape and 12 posts. Seems like a good price, but I would love to know if anyone knows anything about them.
Are you wanting an electric fence kit to use for camping trips? The small charger that is part of the kit looks easy to use and would work fine for a small corral. But you don’t need 660’of electric rope for the small pens used while camping. A white electric tape is wider and more visable. A small roll would be plenty. The posts in the kit appear to be drive in fiberglass posts. These are not what I would pick for camping as they are harder and slower to use than the metal spike tipped step-in posts. Get the charger, 12 step-in posts, one Electric fence gate handle, a spool to wind the tape onto (the spools made for long extension cords) a sledge hammer and a ground rod. You have an easy to use fence kit. May even save some money.

Probably you double the tape (a strand about chest height and one about knee height, so the perimeter is only about 330’. Still pretty big!
I used to use a “Grazier” fence system http://canterlc.com/ it had a small charger that took 2 DD batteries. It had plenty of bite and I used it to contain my horses to graze during the day until I had permanent fence built.

I created my own kit, probably a little cheaper. I used some wire, ordered the battery charger off of ebay for about $40 and had my friend fashion me a grounding rod with a handle. I bought temporary poles from Tractor Supply, and voila, a portable electric fence for under $100.
