I do not get why it was deleted, actually. If I am remembering correctly it was simply a post where CH asked Ekat if their gut had inside information.
I guess it goes against CH’s brag that they do not accuse people of having inside information…

I know some of how horse businesses work.

The point I was making, however, did not require knowledge of the working of a business in any particular industry.

I could make exactly the same point using a different industry as the context. I’ve noticed that a couple people understood my point, even if you did not.

I definitely know of people who include a first option in a sales contract, so that when the buyer wants to sell the horse, they have to offer it back to the previous owner first. I don’t know how hard that would be to enforce, but that is a thing I’ve seen.

I have not seen it, but I can imagine someone might come up with a contract where they want the horse to stay and board on their property with the new owner. Again, I don’t know how hard that would be to enforce.

Carrying the horse forever at no cost to the buyer? I’ve never seen that one. Ever.

Yes but option of first refusal, and/or buy back are not enforceable (ask me how I know), and also lifetime board isn’t that.

Really, it was posted that Guy’s family was reading hundreds of times just after the shooting in 2019.

Look at that…7 days after the shooting…and no one was referring to him as Guy. Not even LK at that point.

If that’s not confirmation somebody has inside knowledge I don’t know what is. Dead giveaway. And completely removes any shred of credibility that poster had…tiny though that shred may have been.

Indeed, I do not know for a fact that LK paid a lump sum of $40,000 for the horse or that the deal included the horse staying at HH without board for the horse charged to LK.

I have seen some sellers state that they would require visitation rights. I would never agree to buy-backs/first refusals unless I was purchasing directly from the horse’s breeder anyway. It screams clingy. If you want to keep tabs on your horse that you “love so much”, don’t sell it.

It might still make sense depending on how much you eventually sell those horses for, but getting rid of a client paying board for your own sale horses reduces current monthly cash flow because you lose the $5,000 a month and you still have to feed the horses replacing them.

But you would have gotten rid of a boarder who was a major PIA and a liability for the business, and you are not having to pay $5000 to have a security firm sweep the place on a regular basis.for illegal recording devices. Not to mention whatever it costs for nighttime security to ensure said PIA boarder didn’t sneak into the barn at night and feed “treats” to other people’s horses, or break into the office and forge or steal documents or firearms or whatever, or set the barn on fire, or do whatever other nefarious acts her demented and evil little brain could cook up.

Yeah, I always wondered how that was supposed to work. I mean, what was supposed to happen when Lauren moved to a different part of the country? was she planning to leave this horse behind? Oh, wait. Was it supposed to imply that Lauren had free lifetime rent on MB’s property, while the horse was there? Because she “lives where her horses are”? Just this sneaking suspicion that she was setting somethign up for her own living arraingments is suspicious. I don’t think there was such an arraingement at all. I think it was another one of her social media lies, meant to give her some kind of leverage about her staying at the farm. Like, If JT lives at the farm, all my other horses have to live there too! I don’t know what her angle was, but I highly doubt he sold her JT with that proviso. “Sure I’ll sell you the horse, but I have to continue to keep it.” nah.
