You best be riding in a Pelham, at least!
I asked this up thread…
On topic, In one of the responses, one of the lawyers ( I admit I do not remember which one) said they were fine with oral arguments to discuss these matters.
The docket currently says that the judge will make a decision on the 21st.
Is there a chance that this decision on the 21st will simply be they are going to have oral arguments?
I don’t think the judge is going to give oral arguments. I think he’s mad and doesn’t want to have to listen to anyone on this subject.
It appears he has the motions scheduled in a way he could listen to arguments right then if he wants to. It also appears that O’Connor (for LK) would really like to argue the request for order from Schellhorn.
We’ll see if that happens.
(From LK’s opposition to Schellhorn’s request for order:)
I’m very behind but saw this and am chiming in.
Yes JK could contact his daughter’s attorney and talk to them. They cannot represent him and cannot give him legal advice, but they can be in contact with them. Either side can be and likely are, even just to arrange the production of documents.
The only contact JK could/should have with the judge is formal communication. So he could file a third-party motion to quash the subpoena, or send a formal letter to chambers that he intends to do so and asking for time to file, etc. But that is not done ex parte - meaning, all the parties would receive copies of all the filings/correspondences. JK could do that representing himself because he is an attorney, but he can’t just send the judge a letter in his capacity as LK’s father. Basically, any correspondence with the judge’s chambers would need to be as an attorney representing himself as a subpoena-d third party.
No. The judge would have scheduled oral argument in advance of the decision. I the decision will give the outcome of the pending motions, it won’t be a yes/no to oral argument.
I agree there likely won’t be oral argument. Lots of judges disfavor it in general, and especially when parties are already bickering on paper.
Absolutely JK can appear pro se but he cannot act as attorney for anyone else as he’s not registered with NJ except with special permission.
Yes, definitely.
Maybe time to bit up to a gag.
I’m pushing 60 pretty hard, and if either of my parents (RIP Mom & Dad) knew that I was sending messages like LK did to GJ, they would be haunting me to my grave. They sure wouldn’t have been referring to me as a PITA. They likely would be wanting to beat my a$$.
Hey, I’ve got the Judge’s email, guess I will email my two cents worth as well!
The bad part about motions that aren’t oral argument is that they can get quite big. Electronically it’s not that bad but in the paper days we’d get many motions 6 or more inches thick and a few which comprised of boxes. Moving and storing them was an enormous effort when you could have dozens on a day.
Well, the one in Newark is for driving the wrong way on a one-way street. So maybe not shady but another word that starts with s.
I was thinking about “Taxi” and when Jim was driving the wrong way on a one-way street - but not as funny.
It’s always the fault of someone else isn’t it? They will somehow blame MHG.
I am a little bit curious what this journey was. Like I said it could have been an airport trip if the southbound trip was the earlier. Other than that a hospital run. Or something more nefarious. I don’t remember the name of the hospital LK was in.

Maybe the master builder was looking for work, as KK claims he is the best?
We know he was no where near the hospital three days after the shooting. So, who knows when he finally reappeared? He had no phone, remember? That loving hero went on a frolic it seems.
Several years ago, I saw a man who looked exactly like the author of Game of Thrones driving the wrong way down a one-way street in my town. My first thought was that I hoped he would survive it so he could finish the books. Lol.
