MB CIVIL SUIT UPDATE #10 K’s Request to Adjourn (delay) DENIED 11/01/22

Don’t want to pick at things for the sake of picking, but not a photo I’d use. I’m not an advocate for riding insanely behind the vertical tho. Personal thing. I know it’s only a moment in time, but still.

Well, this won’t bode well for episode two of 48 Hours! :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

But weren’t the K’s/LK’s originally hugely enthusiastic about the whole 48 Hours thing?

Indeed. They were apparently the ones who reached out to the show to begin with. We heard “48 Hours is working with us! You’ll see what really happened and why MB is a piece of $hit who deserves to rot in prison for the rest of his life!” before Lauren was out of the Hospital.

Yes! 48 Hours was going to show HER TRUTH. Well, they did didn’t they?

Where are her little supporters here who posted how fair 48 Hours was?? It must have been the whole “bow” BS.

I thought the same but I think horse welfare in training isn’t her vibe. I believe the horses are more like accessories for the ego.

I know COTH users predicted this exact outcome. But they don’t listen.

IF the Kanareks are suing 48 Hours, IMO it is a shot across the bow warning USEF/SS of the same thing. They’ve always threatened the Federation!

Why are they only here? Why isn’t the crusade being carried out on all the platforms? There is a lot of things being said out there….all going on unchallenged…

Wait, what? They are suing 48 Hours for real?

After her father bought her the home in Loxahatchee, it was reported that she and the parents were seen trying to ingratiate themselves with the jet-set locals in Wellington, at some of the Equestrian events. After the 48 Hours episode aired and evidence came spilling out in discussions, she’s most likely persona-non-grata in the sport of Dressage and the Wellington community, so I think her Daddy is likely not going to get a good write-off from buying that home.

Toss up…she does lie on SM. Maybe she’ll send them nastygrams on Twitter for a while first.

At the very least, she’s threatening to sue them for defamation…

I don’t know why people would willingly want to be involved with LK & Co. Even if I weren’t sure what’s true and false, I’d keep my distance. I know money talks and some places (not just horse places) will take in any paying customer, but I’ve had enough headaches in my life, personally.

I’m actually all for giving people chances, and sometimes give too many chances, but we all have our stopping points or “no go’s”

I suppose we all draw our own lines in the sand, and to each their own.

Right, because a report that has already been closed is not likely to be the focus of anything, before or after the shooting.

Probably not, but they definitely want that episode of 48 Hours removed from circulation, as it effectively ruined LK’s victim-posturing and will have tanked their attempted civil litigation efforts, both current and future.

VHM, that is a really good point. If plaintiff is going to base her case on the insinuation that MHG bears responsibility for MB’s mental breakdown, why isn’t MHG named as a defendant?

Answer: Plaintiff knows it is an absolutely preposterous argument. IOW, that dog won’t hunt (as we say in the south).

I had missed that. Good.

[Edit]
MB’s mental break did not occur until your idol, LK, filed a false report against him with SS - thereby DELIBERATELY trying to destroy his romantic relationship, his business, his career, his reputation, his standing in the community as a decent, upstanding, law-abiding citizen.

Yes, he may have been stressed in the preceding days and weeks - and especially because LK was already bad-mouthing him all over SM and making horrible accusations about him - but the final straw that drove him over the edge was the arrival of CPS on the farm in response to LK’s FALSE report with SS.

And I am rather disgusted with USEF that it hasn’t taken action against her for weaponizing SS in this manner. (Well, I’ve been disgusted with USEF for a long, long time but that is another story.)

I don’t buy the rope analogy. It paints MHG as a jealous, petty woman and I find that disingenuous. I think it’s more likely that MHG saw LK wasn’t serious about riding and she encouraged MB to find someone else to fill those stalls, especially since he wasn’t making any money off of those stalls. LK was also occupying living space on a farm with limited housing. I wouldn’t want someone who couldn’t be bothered to attend lessons living on my property either.
ETA: encouraging MB to move on from a toxic client-trainer relationship isn’t a tug of war. His deal with LK was not something he was actively making money off of and I don’t agree that he was keeping her on because of money. That deal was a pittance.

@skydy, your whole post was amazing but this line is the most important. You are more educated for knowing them because you were willing to listen and learn. You knew that your knowledge was not the same as theirs so you took in what they were willing to pass along.

Clearly some posters here are not willing to do that. It is their loss, really.

No way of answering this without you giving a clue what information you have.
Do you know that Jonathan Kanarek ( @Inigo-montoya ) sent an email/letter to the judge in the civil case, which is so against the rules it is not funny and someone who went thru law school knows that. This judge sent the letter to the opposing counsel and they responded. That document is attached to the first post. Worth the read.

What? You mean in the original post? Just open the last document listed in the original post and see if you have read it. If you are not willing to do that much then the problem is not the thread.
