The MDHT Cross Derby was held for the first time Spring 2012 with positive feedback from all involved.
New for 2013: Entry Fee reduced to $60.00 per division for Intro and Elementary, and $65.00 per division for Beginner Novice thru Prelim.
The course will start in the same ring, but will run longer and in a “loop” instead of backtracking. Starting in the upper ring with stadium jumps, riders will then cross a ditch and enter the main ring for interspersed stadium and cross-country type jumps, then down the hill into the schooling ring for more stadium and cross-country jumps, up the berm at the back of the schooling and main ring, and finishing in the cross-country field near to where the course began. The objective is to establish a rhythm over solid jumps in reliable consistent footing. Optimum times will be posted.
Divisions will receive ribbons up to 8th place with awards sponsored by Farmers Cooperative Association, Inc.
Levels Offered:
Intro 18" – 2’
Elementary 2’ – 2’3"
Beginner Novice 2’7" max
Novice 2’11" max
Training 3’3" max
Prelim 3’7" max (A Prelim Division will be added if a minimum of 20 entries are received.)
Rules: The MDHT Cross Derby will follow the USEA/USEF Jumping phase rules. USEF rules for Cross Country dress and tack will be followed. All Riders must wear ASTM/SEI approved helmet, protective vests, and medical armband.
Closing Date: Entries must be received by March 6.

Please note, in the case of bad weather the show will go on but the course may be modified to account for bad or unsafe ground conditions. Also, the competition can run over 2 days of entries warrant.
