She’s looking great!
She looks so amazing now! Your horsemanship skills and knowledge are obviously in the top 1% of horse owners!
We need to see a side by side comparison of photos from the first day and one of these but I can’t do it, anybody?
I got a couple of hoof pictures this morning when I went to bring the beasts into their shady day paddocks.
Wow, just wow comparing the feet. Guess her body score was so disgustingly low, didn’t much attention to the hack job on her feet. Good job.
Thanks! I think I caught her mid-wink in the comparison picture, lol
Oh, that was a tough replay. I much prefer the now pics
The stock type horses really pack it on fast , don’t they??
She looks really good.
Well done friend! Any animal is lucky to land in your orbit. I also applaud your team of farrier and vet…and the balance of money vs. treatment. I think you have made all the right choices! (Matilda thinks that too!)
Her whole body posture has changed, her eye is soft, she looks happy.
We had a slightly emotional morning. There was a drop in temps last night and rain moved in. Not terribly cold, but 50s and wet is different than 50s and dry when you haven’t had time to grow your coat out. Our son noticed Matilda was shivering a little when we brought the horses in for breakfast (it’s the last overnight turnout, if the temps stay low). We grabbed burlap sacks to rub her coat and a blanket to put on her until it warms up a little. She watched us as we rubbed her down. A little nervous at first, then a sigh, and ears forward as she bent her head back down to continue her breakfast. I showed our son how to fold the blanket inward so it was the size of a saddle blanket before putting it on her back, in case she’s never worn one before. We chose the blanket that belonged to our son’s old horse as the most likely to fit her. As we unfolded it, she sighed with relief. She knows blankets. The blanket fit her perfectly. It was as if we bought the right horse to replace the sweet old gelding he lost last summer. Matilda gave us her thankful look before we walked off. What a funny little princess!
Where is my kleenex?!?
I took a picture before taking it off. It was just an early morning chill because the f the rain. We’ll have colder temps tonight, but dry. She should be okay.
aww snug as a bug in a rug!
Wow, Matilda is looking awesome! She doesn’t even look like the same horse from the beginning of summer. I’m so glad she’s found you. She’s a lucky girl to have found such a wonderful home. Glad everyone is doing well!
Just a few more photos. I think she’s still gaining muscle. Her butt is even wider, lol. She almost has enough weight for winter. I want a little extra weight as a buffer.
I found out that there are “Matildas” in Paint horse lines. I wonder if she’s registered?
She’s looking so good!!
Look at that Apple bottom bootie!!! Job well done !!
Looking great!!!
