Meet Matilda! Pictures 10/1

I love her little ear in that pic.

Merry Christmas! She’s all ready. I caught her mid chew, lol.

We’ve learned the joys of keeping a white horse clean. She is a dirty girl in her stall, too, lol!

Matilda’s teeth were floated recently. She’s about 14 or 15. Galvayne’s groove is not quite halfway down. One crumbly molar and the vet thinks she was grinding tough stuff (sticks?) during her extended starvation because her front teeth have unusual wear.

Matilda is doing better, as far as soundness. She picks up her feet much more readily and tolerates keeping them up for longer periods.

However, she lost a little weight this winter, but she’s eating well most of the time. Sometimes she doesn’t finish her hay. It’s good alfalfa. I’m going to try UlcerGuard for 30 days.

I agree. She looks happy and healthy! So nice to see her playing in the snow.

Nothing like a long ice soak for hoof and lower leg issues. Only helpful thing about snow.

They just got their winter trims today and the farrier had very nice things to say about how her hooves have grown out.

She looks wonderful. It feels so good when the farrier says nice things about your horse’s feet.

Matilda is coming up on a year with us. I’m just ponying her alongside my horse. I think she was rodeoed in a bad way. She is learning quiet and calm walks. She seems to like it.

I want her to hold a little more weight. Matilda came out of winter fine, but she seems to stay lean. Might try another round of ulcer meds. She is a worrier.
