My 10 year old grey mare has a few melanomas under her tail. I’ve been doing lots of research into the Oncept vaccine (dog vaccine but seems to be curative in horses too). Does anyone have any experience with Oncept or have any other suggestions? The first round of injections look like they’re going to cost about $3000 and then I have to continue giving boosters every 6 months indefinitely at about $500 a shot. I guess I’m wondering if this is worth doing? Also, does anyone have experience with trying to claim it through their insurance? Thanks!!
