My husband always rides in jeans, but he told me today he wanted a lighter option for summer. I myself ride in breeches, riding tights, and shorts (when it’s really hot) but I don’t know what to look for for him. What are his options?
Would he consider breeches?
Really, with the new tech fabrics they are the best option for hot weather.
I believe they have a bootcut version if he doesn’t want the ones that are made to fit in tall boots.
DH had Devonaire kneepatch breeches I liked so much I “adopted” them for my own use before buying my own.
Unlike the useless, teeny zipper pocket on the women’s version, they have actual usable front pockets.
They were also reasonably priced, under $100.
when my husband was taking lessons he rode in the black ribbed tuff rider knee patch breeches. They are pretty normal looking (not too revealing) as far as breeches go and stretchy, comfortable and affordable.
My hubby rides in Ovation and B Vertigo breeches . I buy them a size up so they aren’t skin tight.
Both brands are light weight for summer.
There are lots of stretchy hiking and jogging pants for men, that are not as form-fitting as breeches (if that’s the issue? Im just guessing)

But none would have the suede calf patch to prevent rubs/ getting pinched by leathers. (in which case, a pair of half-chaps would solve that.)
