Menlo is No More

Even though I live on the east coast, it makes me very sad to see the loss of this show and so many others.

Sorry to hear of the loss of another wonderful horse show tradition. :slightly_frowning_face:

This makes me sad, because it’s another piece of my past that’s disappearing. Even if I wanted to revisit Menlo, I can’t, except in photos and daydreams.

This is the third (maybe fourth?) once lovely charity show in the west that’s gone away. To me, there was something always special about benefit shows, with the enthusiastic volunteers, the community support, and knowing that at least part of my fees were going to a good cause.

Ultimately another victim of multi week, “corporate shows.”

RIP Menlo. Thanks for the memories.

Very sad. I have never been to this show, but I know of plenty of others that have disappeared off the calendar in a similar way. :frowning:

I was about to compete there for the first time in 2022 and fulfill a childhood dream, and my horse popped a splint the day before leaving. Looked like such an amazing event with an equally amazing benefit to charity! Sad to see it go.
