Meredith & Shutterfly do it again!
Who is 50% xx/ox? not shutterfly. He has no anglo-arab blood in him (ox).

The hanoverians calculate % of TB by looking at the 4th generation. If you look 3 out of 8 ancestors are TB in his pedigree. That makes him 3/8ths TB. No more no less.

Yes - he is heavily influenced in phenotype by Forrest xx.
but he is less than 50% TB, he is 3/8ths.
The calculation on that site (which is for first 5 generations) is correct.

However, I was sad to hear about Up Chiqui…do you guys think it’s the end of the road for him? He’s not done so well here recently.
The end of the road for Up Chiqui?!! No way. Were have you been this year? He is an amazing horse with a great rider and they’ve had a lot of success! Confined spaces and super quick turns like there were at the world cup are just not his favorite things that’s all, it doesn’t mean that it is the end of the road!

Meredith and Shutterfly were just unbelievable to watch I have to admit… I was a little sad for McLain and Saphire though.

sighs Looks like you haven’t read the whole thread. We’ve already been over this…it was a poor choice of words on my part and the rest I won’t repeat cause it’s all been discussed above.

in the sun

Do any of you remember all 16 placings in the jumping? I am missing a few…thanks!

Go to the website www.worldcuplasvegas.com for a complete listing of the results!

I don’t think that - along with several knowledgeable folks (a company I do NOT join as their expertise is far greater than mine) have EVER thought Up Chiqui was top top caliber - fantastic horse, please, don’t think I for one second think not - but that step up a grade, to the uber GPs - no, really, the horse had found his extraordinary place at where he was, Peter Principle is my way of thinking!

IN THE SUN

THANKS GUNNAR!!! I ALSO LIKED THAT THE SITE GAVE SIRE AND DAMS OF JUMPERS.

it was pretty incredible to watch first hand. she was flawless. i’m sure it was a huge deal to drop the trophy but the announcer had a good point that when it’s her safety involved it’s ok.

MMB cowboy hat

MMB should have removed her cowboy hay for “her” country’s national anthem. Ya think?

dutchfan is correct. The Hans count at the 4th generation. He is 3/8. But if you look past the 4th generation, you will actually come up to 4/8, or 50% TB blood. Don’t know where anyone got the idea he has Arab blood in him. It is not there in any part of his pedigree–unless you go by the theory that TB’s were originally Arabs.

And what is all this kicking MMB around about. That girl and Shutterfly are hot. They are the Tiger Woods of the jumping world. You have got to admit it.

And yes Shutterfly is heavily influenced in type by Forrest. As a breeder, I think the Gardestern is what makes for the jump plus the carefulness. Gardestern was a super producer of very careful jumpers, but he lived and produced for only a very short time.

Whatever it is, it works. This is not a horse for just any world class rider. It is a horse for Meredith, and she rides him flawlessly.
