Without intentionally bringing politics to the conversation, LK reminds me of “that other guy” with her narcissism, blaming others for everything, inspiring conspiracy ideas, and paranoia.

I doubt many people discuss or even think about her until she posts on these old threads to provoke. I don’t understand why or how they keep opening back up.

Maybe the hearing, if there really was one, was to address a motion for MB to be released pending disposition, or trial, if there is one. Yet-to-be-sentenced detainees being released seem to be something she’s trying to talk about. Speculation of course.

Think about it, @Ambitious_Kate. If MB were to be released pending trial, wouldn’t that have happened a year ago?

That is one of the things I do not get… honestly.

The person bringing the thread back up is the person who is the thread is at least 50% about. Why does them posting mean we (general people interested in the case) lose a place to discuss the case?

I personally still hoping that someone in the know will tell us about whatever hearing happened. I much prefer facts on these things. (I attempted to search about a hearing but nothing I tried came up, but we all know that Google and such hates me.)

“Someone in the know” periodically comes on to post information she knows and is almost always met with hostility, insults, snide remarks, and statements that she is not believed. And you’re asking again for information? (Rhetorical)

I remember the judge’s reasoning behind not allowing for pre-trial release was originally - but I didn’t necessarily agree with the reasoning. The alleged attack was against a specific person - not a random violent act. At the time the victim was still in the local area - thus the reasoning for no pre-trial release. She has long since left and has shown no inclination to return to New Jersey full-time. I’d think an argument for pre-trial release with monitoring could have been made, especially during COVID, but his team either did not pursue it at the time or it was denied.

I know absolutely nothing about NJ criminal proceedings, but after almost 2 years of delays, I’d think there could be an argument made regarding an accused’s rights regarding undue confinement.

The strongest case for release would have been months ago when being cooped up in jail created a significant risk of his contracting Covid. Now that the vaccine is available, that significant argument goes away.

ETA He may have had an option for a more prompt trial date and waived his right to a speedy trial to give the defense more time to prepare. At one point it was the defense delaying matters.
