Michael Gill Trainer List - RIP

I was curious just how many trainers Michael Gill currently employs, and who has been fired over the past year. Any help? I will update the list which changes on a weekly basis:

Currently Employed
Darrel Delahoussaye (Penn/Philly)
Tony Adamo (Penn/Philly)
Marcus Vitali (Suffolk)

You’re Fired !!! (and probably happy about it)
Michael Catalano Jr
Evan Jackson (quit)
Tim Hooper
Lars Becdelamotte
Jevon Crumley
Marcial Navarro
Gamalia Vazquez
Michael Pino
Murray Rojas (quit)
James Taglianetti
Christopher Grove

When did he split with Hooper? I figured Tim could handle anything after putting up with Lake all those years.

Just happened last week. It was in the works for about a month, though, so not totally a surprise.

I don’t know anything about the man personally, but OMG - the myectomies, the euthed horses, the fact that no trainer can stand him for more than a fleeting moment… The more I hear about him, the sicker I get to my stomach.

So is Chris Groves done too? He had horses for him in Md.

What about Murray Rojas?

No, he’s still employed. Forgot about him.

John Robb, gone…

Tammi Piermarini, horse tested positive for Benzylpiperazine…another one bites the dust.

I didn’t put Shuman or Robb on the list because I’m trying to keep it to the last year.

Oops, didnt read the part that said this past year… that should shorten things up some…

a friend from college just left this weekend to go work for marcus vitali. by the way she tlked bout him he doesnt sound too lovely

Evan Jackson said he wasn’t fired, he quit.

Didn’t he have a trainer named Taglianetti last year at Suffolk?

Nah, just fun to track the soap opera. I don’t think many would take the job if offered. I know about a dozen who were asked and politely said no. And I really don’t think Gill is a real bad person, just fun to watch his operation and how he runs it.

so i dont understand this guys operation. why does he operate the way he does? Why does he fire trainers and why are they dropping like flies?

I’ve heard that he likes to run the show the way he wants to - he does pay the bills - and then either the trainers get tired of it and quit or Mr. Gill let’s them go.

Some trainers last only a week, some a for several months even a year.

One trainer started claiming horses from Gill immediately after getting fired.

The sad thing is the Gill operation, no pun intended, is one of the more interesting things to track over a long year’s time when we don’t have the TC or Breeders Cup.

Yes.
