Michael/ Lauren civil trial update February 9

Are you old enough to remember the days of 16mm movie projectors in schools?

When certain posters make up their stories (as they call them movies in their head) all I hear is the clicking noise that happens when things go haywire with the projector.

And all the film ends up unspooling on the floor? Lol.

Yes!

Did you even read @I_dratherbe’s post? It doesn’t appear that you did.

Have you even read the pleadings filed by Silver on behalf of SGF? Silver’s firm is representing SGF - NOT the mythical insurance company. Silver’s firm may or may not have his fees covered by the insurance company, but the defendant/client is SGF - and even if Silver is being paid by the insurance company, in front of the jury Silver is defending SGF, with no mention of the insurance company.

Here, I will help you out. This is how Silver signs what he files with the court:

SCHENCK PRICE SMITH & KING LLP
Attorneys for Defendant, Sweet Grass Farm, LLC
By: /s/ Mark K. Silver
Mark K. Silver, Esq.

Mic drop. You win the thread today. (Although, really, you shouldn’t have had to explain this!!)

Yes, Silver is representing SGF. If SGF has liability insurance, I would expect that it is the insurance company paying Silver, not SGF itself.

I doubt that the jury will not learn of the presence or absence of liability insurance.

Of course they were. LK, at least a few times, talked about how Jon L, would come and inspect RG’s work.

So, I’m sure at least part of what SGF is looking for is the documentation from JK about what claims were made as far as the negotiations for RG to do the renovations.

Since RG was unlicensed, I hope the nature of his skills and “business” wasn’t misrepresented by LK/JH.

I suspect that this is insight into the grift. And unfortunately for everyone it has gone horribly wrong.

Is I’dratherbe actually asserting that SGF does not have liability insurance, or that the existence of liability insurance will not be disclosed to the jury?

That would be a bold claim.

No one disagrees that Silver is representing SGF. The issue is whether he’s being paid by a deep pockets insurance company and whether the jury will learn of the existence of liability insurance.

I suspect this a result of listening to faulty legal advice from friends.

Yes, that too, has proven faulty.

I have no idea about the status of SGF’s insurance policy - or, assuming they have one, whether the insurance company has accepted that the policy covers any liability that could be assessed against SGF arising out of the shooting, and has agreed to cover the costs of defense. Based on what we know now, I would not be surprised if SGF wins a motion for summary judgment and gets dismissed from the suit. If they dont’ get dismissed I really don’t see any relevance for introducing evidence to the jury as to whether or not they have insurance coverage - in fact it seems more likely to be excluded as prejudicial.

Okay, now I am certain you have not read @I_dratherbe’s posts. I am not at all surprised.

What’s bold is that you seemingly don’t read for comprehension and then make bold assertions yourself. You have demonstrated a pattern of ignoring or misinterpreting what legal professionals tell you, and then arguing with them and/or continuing to make misguided assertions.

It’s kind of like when you said “I’m not going to watch that” about 48 Hours and then commented on it nonetheless… only you don’t even have to leave the thread to read what they have explained to you.

It is exhausting.

The movie in my head says that is their whole point.

The former acquisitions exec in me would say “Hard Pass” to that movie (and quite a few other head movies here!).:sleeping:

You need to look at this differently. There is a positive side.

Think about how the thread is when movie maker is not posting long posts full of inaccurate information. A new filing gets posted, there is a short discussion and then we wait for the next tid bit of information to be filed somewhere or for LO to post on the Go Fund Me.

When movie maker posts their imaginary truths, we get to post all kinds of facts, most of which show the Kanarek family to be what they are…

So yes, movie maker is annoying, but they are a win for keeping the less than ethical, less than positive, less than upstanding member of society side of the Kanarek family front and center for all to see.

I have read the posts by I’dratherbe with full comprehension.

On the 48 hours episode, I never said that I wasn’t going to watch it. As it happens, I read the transcript of the episode before watching it. I made no comments about it before reading the transcript.

LOL. You’ve proven conclusively that the negative comments on the Kanareks continue unabated when I drop off the thread, @trubandloki.
