That’s an interesting point about her attorney. Given that they are based in NJ… I would assume that the client, who insisted on zoom and not traveling, will foot the bill for travel expenses to bring their attorney down to Florida for this?
If made correctly, at home, from scratch using only molasses and none of that golden syrup you find and many of the large commercial operations and bakeries in that area, it is sublime. Like the best coffee cake you ever had. I have spread the joys of pure molasses shoo fly pie the world over - literally. If you’ve only ever had the low-end commercial version, you may be forgiven for maligning it.
inter alia: Insisting simply handing something to an attorney = privilege. Doubling down on that error, mocking a practitioner and academic who specialises in privilege analysis, promising to call the partner at a ‘blue chip top 5 global’ firm (using speed dial, dontchaknow?) to confirm this misunderstanding, promising to get back to the aforementioned professional re: same to shame her and show her ignorance, naturally and inevitably never, in fact, reverting on the matter ever again.
When I read this, I imagined something like Fred Astaire, when he danced on the floor, walls, and ceiling of a room. This was done by slowly rotating the set.
I do occasionally vacuum the upper reaches of my rooms, as I have 9’ ceilings, and I don’t regularly look for dust bunnies that have formed in the upper reaches. So, it can be a shock when I finally notice them.
Speaking about “funny” vacuuming, five years ago I painted my house. When I needed to scrape the second story at the front of my house, I climbed out a bedroom window onto the roof of the porch. The porch roof is an upside-down “V” so I carefully set up my ladder on the roof and scraped away. I had put down a tarp to catch the paint chips scraped off, but it was a pain to keep moving it, trying not to dump the chips. I finally said ‘screw it’, put the tarp in the bedroom, and let the paint chips land on the porch roof.
When I was done, I got my Bissel upright vacuum, plugged it into a bedroom outlet with an extension cord, and used the wand(?) to vacuum up the paint chips. I live on a reasonably busy road, high school spitting distance away, a city bus that goes by every half hour—LOTS of traffic. I kinda wondered at the time what people thought seeing a woman vacuuming her porch roof.
For what it’s worth, it worked VERY well!
(Edited. Changed “porch room” to “porch roof.” That’s what I get for staying up into the wee hours of the morning.)
When I was married, we had health insurance through MY job. At one time, my husband attempted suicide, spent a few days in the hospital, and then some weeks in the mental facility affiliated with the hospital.
I never saw a bill for the above. Of course, I discovered later that my husband was unplugging our telephone (land line, 30 years ago), so I wouldn’t hear the phone ring/the creditors couldn’t get through. I was working when our mail was usually delivered, so it was possible that he was intercepting the bills, hiding or destroying them.
However, when he left me for the last time (a few years later), I was never contacted for unpaid bills from the hospital, mental facility, and his lawyer (another story there). I DID get contacted about his (unpaid) credit card; by the furniture rental company (no payment, no sign of their furniture, either); and an old financial “judgment” that we HAD been paying on and was nearly paid off when he left me—apparently he had decided to stop paying on it when he left.
But as I stated, no medical bills ever showed up, nor did I get any notification that they had been paid by my health insurance. The bills HAD to be extensive, but… There’s NO way that my soon-to-be-ex would have notified them to give his new address. Absolutely NOT.
I just don’t know how or why the billing department at the hospital didn’t try to get its money. I was easy to find—I would NOT have paid these bills, but I sort of expected a phone call or a letter from them.
Yes but remember LK testified that she lies a lot on social media. So I chalk up such statements by LK and squad as false bravado, a ruse and nothing more.
I am the plaintiff on my own civil case and my actions and cooperation matches my intent and desire to move on with things expeditiously. When I’m asked for things I provide it.
Jonathan Kanarek (@Inigo-montoya) has been boasted to be accurate and honest so if you want to give Lauren Kanarek a pass on her not cooperating, how about Jonathan Kanarek saying he wants to cooperate and move forward all while not cooperating, ignoring subpoenas, etc.
I only check this thread every few days, and I’m still about 200 comments behind, but certain posters have gone a bit strange since I last checked in. One seems to have disappeared altogether (maybe off looking for that requested proof of where people “threatened” LKs new barn and “threatened” her new BNT?) and the other is letting the mask slip from time to time. I think I need a few more espressos (or gin, is it too early?) …
It’s got to be exhausting defending the indefensible all the time, particularly since they declare they personally know no one involved. The level of deflection, denial, twisting and misrepresenting certainly indicates a strong personal investment IMO, which seems strange for strangers.
@ekat - so someone responded to a subpoena. Was that to LK, or was it the one to the DA? And if the latter, why did it take a subpoena to obtain ADDITIONAL documents that were related to the incident that is at the heart of both the criminal and civil proceedings?
