Michael/ Lauren civil trial update February 9

Agreed. It’s pretty terrible on many levels.

It’s better than lying, I suppose.

I don’t know about that, since in these people’s case, the phrase is a lie in itself.

I doubt if he fully understands that just yet. But he will…

So, for all intents and purposes, RG actually IS Lauren with the recordings. She broke the law by directing and using the illegal recordings, so she’s on the hook. MB didn’t so he gets no percent. RG made them for LK, but not being sued. LK directed him to make them and used them, and distributed them. So it doesn’t matter if she says, “Yeah, but he placed them”. She’s on the hook for using them.

Best summary of the situation so far, in my opinion. Outside scripted entertainment or BSC stuff like Tiger King, I did not know people behaved like this IRL. It is genuinely shocking.

They do and far more often than is comfortable.

But then, LK mails them and what no, to SS, signing her name, etc.

I have a question, if the recordings are illegal, and LK et al are found to have made and distributed illegal recordings (and I guess she did, to KK,vto Nelly the Belly, to others she has talked about on Facebook, to SS, to her father) can that become a criminal charge, or will it stay civil?

But, it is usually them lying when they say it.

I think these threads have made that clear.

In a jurisdiction who cares about that stuff it certainly can. It appears that in NJ they are not interested in anything negative anyone in the Kanarek family does.

I’m on my way!

I think the proper term is DELUSIONS of grandeur.

Perhaps by the time the civil trials roll around they will have gotten better professional stylist help - maybe gain some weight, drop the dramatic makeup, wear clothes that actually fit, hair brushed, oh, and plenty of reading glasses! First impressions with the jury and all that. You never get a second chance for a first impression.

I’m looking forward to watching Pa and Ma testify (if it is televised). It won’t take the defense team long to get the real personalities to appear in them.

Good point! I will say though that when I was a toddler, we had a Cocker Spaniel. She was my first dog and I loved her immensely. She was pretty and sweet and great with wee kids but…she could not be housebroken. My father always said she was the dumbest dog he had ever owned. We sadly had to rehome her when Dad was transferred to Japan (6 month quarantine). :frowning:

Hilary Clinton was a master at using that term whenever faced with a question that she didn’t want to answer. (Or should it be “mistress”? Or are both words too politically incorrect these days?)

I was just wondering how likely it is that Silver has watched that testimony. And is there a chance Stone will watch it? Seems to me it would be a vital part of their “due diligence” as they prep for the upcoming depositions and trial.

I will meet you there!

Guessing he will if he hasn’t already. It’s good to have an idea how a deponent will act. And of course, what has been said.
