Hoping every day to find an explosion in post numbers meaning that MB has finally been released from that dungeon. That he re-establishes himself, family and business bigger and better than ever before.

It just occurred to me that another reason for LK to find any way possible to keep Michael confined is, when he is released, these threads will slow to a slow drip, if not end, and all attention on her will be gone until, if, the civil trials begin. Without Michael, there is no attention of any kind for Lauren. She is and has been an afterthought.

It would be delightful to learn eventually that her parents are in serious legal trouble for aiding and abetting the conspiracy to FIB. I wonder how long RG will hang around once the money is gone?

Oh, very true. Contempt vs now I’m a defendant…what’s a mom to do?

I guess it is way too late to simply raise your daughter to be an upstanding citizen and not get involved in the family criminal activities, hu?
But I suppose since Kirby also has an arrest record (was it assault?) that she too thinks following the rules of society to not be something she has to do.

I’m way behind on the thread, but I believe it was assault. Maybe other things as well? I don’t recall for sure by this time.

Simple assault. It was an arrest. I’m not sure of the disposition details.

I think there were tickets as well. But not like LKs driving record.

LK, JK, KK and RG all have been arrested for assault. Some more than once. In LKs case, also assault with a deadly weapon.

I wonder if/when MBs side gets records related to professional experts who have evaluated her mental and emotional health Pre and post shooting, if any of the records will speak to an actual psychological disorder with respect to lying.

Such disorders exist. Maybe that’s a partial explanation.

With the collapse of the mental health care system in this country - shuttered in the 80’s and 90’s in many places - and the attitude towards keeping people confined, you’ll see that a lot of “Loony Lala” types now don’t get tripped up by laws and courts for the most part, because their mental problems get them a quick out and away from any punishment or accountability.

I am of the belief that after MB is released and returns to Florida someone will motion for a change of venue to Florida.

Even though the events happened in NJ, once MB is firmly domiciled in Florida it is entirely possible for a change of venue based on residence be made. Whether or not that is granted is anyone’s guess.

It might slow things down you could think. But FL might do things faster and it could backfire. In either place I’m betting the jury will have lots of hardworking home owners so that dynamic might favor one party over another. Say if someone were a grifter, it might be off putting.

My vote is all of the above.

If the civil suit ever makes it to trial (I think that’s unlikely), she’s likely to do worse on the stand. Different rules, and more latitude allowed during questioning.

Add to this that there will be no judge who appears to going out of their way to protect her.

Is it remotely possible that the “venue” of the trial would be changed to Florida, when the cause of action happened in NJ, the issue in the wiretapping counter suit is possible violation of NJ wiretapping laws, the suit was filed in NJ, and none the attorneys involved are licensed to practice law in Florida?

I can’t see how FL would be better. Gun carry rights, 2 party consent for recording, strong property rights/castle doctrine….

Much more likely to run into a culture that thinks along the lines of some of those comments on YT and FB.
