Michael/ Lauren civil trial update February 9

Loved Bob Newhart!

I was reading some articles that said a zoom deposition may not be admissible in court. One article said you have the court reporter and also a certified videographer.
Is this a new thing or wouldn’t these services be used even if it was done in person?

I still remember watching that when it happened. It was just amazing in real time.

Larry, Darryl & Darryl were fantastic, but man, it was weird to ever see the actor who played Larry in any other role. Lol.

Somewhere I think I still have a sweatshirt that says Indoor Brabant from a horse show there.

Specifically, was this New Jersey?

I read an article where the court recorder is insufficient to certify the recording, and that a certified videographer has to also certifiy the recording, to guarantee that the video hasn’t been tampered with by either party. But there has to be a court recorder/stenographer and a videographer to certify. I guess there can be breaks, casual conversation, start date and time and end time, oath to be administered, and these have to be narrated or annotated as the case may be, and each of these certifies parts of it, the videographer, though has to certify and take chain of custody.

There is also the opinion that the recorded deposition can be used for attorney’s use, but might not be admissible evidence for summary judgment or trial.

This might be okay, though, as the defence, for example, might not have ever intended LK’s deposition to be actual testimony at trial, but to used for their information, then the trial its self is where the actual testimony comes in. I’m only concluding that on my own, not sure how all of this relates to our civil case. Just interesting that these questions, which we all broached in a surface way, some while ago, are questions which have come up in the courts and been addressed in various ways. I also don’t know if what I read related to civil or criminal trials and depositions. Just bringing it up, since 3pony did

For me, David Hyde Pierce was THE reason to watch that show. He was so dry, so funny, his timing was impeccable, and he had a lot of the best lines. I’ll never forget the scene in which Roz was looking for a dress to lend Daphne and pulled one out and said, we can accessorize this. Niles’ reply was: With what, a lamp post and a public defender?

Honestly, there were lots of good actors: Roz, Daphne, the father.

The only one I couldn’t really stomach was Kelsey Grammer.

This was not specifically for NJ.

@3PonyFarm I was going to PM you but you aren’t accepting PMs at the moment. If you want to message me, I can message you, maybe

If any of you here like spicy lawyer writing and Crumbl cookies, I highly, highly recommend reading the Crumbl cookie lawsuits (or watching Emily D. Baker’s coverage). The lawyers of Dirty Dough are very amusing and you’ll have a good laugh!

I sent you a PM. Let me know if you don’t receive it. I’m not sure why I am not receiving them. Thanks for letting me know.

I have to say, as I work at home at night, I can sometimes put on a show or two, to play in the background. So I found Frasier on Hulu, and episode 1 had me laughing. I tried Newhart, and Cheers, and episodes 1 didn’t carry through for me for today, but boy Frasier sure did - clever writing, and a good pace. Niles carried it, for sure. It will be a fun binge.

I have an internet friend who named her Guinea hens Larry, Larry, and Darrell. She is a great writer and her tales of their adventures could make you laugh so hard you cried.

Speaking of Crumbl, but on a less-funny topic -

I’m relieved that no Crumbl cookie location in my state was listed and I hope all of the franchises take it seriously.
