No, I do not know this person. Just looking for a pony that may have been sold to one of his clients in 2003. Thanks for your help!

He left Bell Cyn a year ago or so. I think he is at a barn on Kanan Road off 101 in Agora. He left Bell Cyn because he owed them mucho $$$$$.

Don’t get involved with him if you can help it.

He is at Southland Farm - on Agoura Road. I know the owners of this barn and can’t
imagine Larry and Renee putting up with Michael’s financial issues. When you are
driving on Agoura, look for the covered ring — you can’t miss it.

Larry and Rene have Arabian endurance horses and their place is really quite nice.
Bet Michael doesn’t last long there so better get a move on it if you’re looking
for him.

I hope you find your pony well but, alas, given this “professional’s” history, I think you are likely to find the trail and stories muddled.

This guy is one of the very, very few I’ve ever known to have a website (alas, now apparently defunct) to track his alleged misdeeds.

And people wonder why the rest of us want an unbiased way to get reliable information on the alleged professionals in this business. If I can find out about a doctor, dentist, real estate agent, dog breeder and various other “professionals,” why is there NO similar database for horse trainers when we are expected to shovel over THOUSANDS of dollars in commission and training fees without a reference??

I seriously don’t understand this guy — he just goes from one mess to another. He
was set up just across from us down at Showpark a few years back - he was suspended from USEF for various issues only a month before but there he was – like no big deal. LOL

He just goes along with everyone under sun after him for money or whatever and
takes it all in stride -------- simply mindboggling.

When I was at Bell Cyn about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago, the sheriff came with sirens blaring, got him off a horse, and took him away. Never found out what it was for, but had us laughing for months. You should have seen the look on his face…priceless.

Are you still looking for Sprite? I wish you luck, but I don’t think Michael will be much help. For him, it’s just business and anything that long ago is ancient history.

Geez, sounds like business as usual.
For suspended people I mean, not necessarily for Michael.

Wasn’t Michael in business with Eric Vawter then ?

Who were you with? I was there when it happened also (not anymore! left for better footing!) and remember it quite well. mind boggling.

More Michael Leon info

I remember being at the grass field over at LAEC and the police came and took
him away ---- and I swear he was laughing all the way to the cop car – guess
he’s used to having the police show up and cart him off …

Then there was the issue of him switching numbers on his horses – it happened in a class
we were in – I mean who keeps track of which horses (of your competitor) are wearing what number in a 3 day division but there was a ruckus going on, as usual when one of his horses is in your class.
That was one of his suspensions. I guess it’s your call on what to do about
leasing your horse to him –

If I could do it all over again, I would and Michael Leon would never have entered the picture. I had a horse put down in his care, and was never paid on a horse that was sold. Beware of Michael Leon

michael leone is a very dangerous person. I would go as far as saying he is a Sociopath. He has no feelings for his horses or other people. If you want an exact definition of Michael Leone go here http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html. I was at a facility with him and the things I saw him do to his horses was reprehensible.

There is a reason someone made a website about him…warn others to stay away.

Beachjumper…Run away…run far, far away…and take your horse with you!

Sad. I wish people like that would just get out of the horse business and find something else to do.

What astounds me is that there are ALWAYS people who fall for the crap these trainers offer to them. And so they stay in business, moving from facility to facility, despite the set-downs, the legal stuff, etc. I was once at a barn where Michael Leon was - and we all saw the horrible things he did. Yet the barn owner had let him move in, despite his history and his inability to pay bills. It simply never stops.
