Does anyone know where I could see video of the Danish Stallion Michellino? Has anyone used him? Offspring?
This is a great stallion. I personally have ridden many of his offspring as have many of my students. I have worked with at least 20 and all are really forward going, some slightly electric and a few have been a tad nervous. I know that some people avoid these horses because they think they are nervous, I would disagree. If they are ridden without force and with a seat that is suitable for a sensitive horses, all of the offspring have what it takes to reach the highest levels. Very quick/active hind legs, laterally supple, uphill canters, fancy enough trots, walk ok to very good and all easy for collected work. Real talent with piaffe and passage. I would use him on any mare that was a little old fashioned, most modern mares but nothing with too much TB or Trakehner blood. Can’t say enough good things about him as a producer of dressage horses for the higher levels.
Sorry, don’t know where you can find a video…

Dave - thank you, thank you - great information and sounds perfect for one of my mares. Doing early research and hope someone has a video link. Do you know where I could see any of his offspring in video?
Thank you - I will check with Becky
Only use him on level-headed, quiet mares because Michellino on a hot mare is a bomb… But he has produced fantastic FEI level horses and is certainly a brilliant stallion
The plan is for 2013 - (doing some early research here for a client) for a Sansisco-De-Niro-Wanderbursch II mare. She seems level headed and a powerful mover with lots of lift. Looking to add refinement and reach and elasticity. I liked the idea of Michellino but we are open to suggestions. Also wanted a proven producer for upper level dressage - professional quality.
Mistral Hojiris (Alf) is by Michellino. They can be a little hot but very expressive fabulous movers. I believe Laura Bechtolsheimer describes him as a big, cuddly guy.
