I am desperately searching for a decent farrier in middle TN (we are in Ashland City). My current farrier is dodging my messages and I have been pretty unhappy with all three horses’ feet and the way he is balancing them (if you can call it that). I’ve been battling thrush on my TWH since the end of January and despite throwing the book at him nothing is working. I am in need of a knowledgeable dependable farrier (is there such a thing around here?! I have heard there may not be!). My family is currently under self quarantine awaiting COVID test results so I obviously can’t have anyone out immediately, but I need to get the ball rolling and get someone lined up for when we can have someone out to the farm post COVID results or post COVID quarantine. Good luck! If you don’t need shoes, I can recommend you several excellent barefoot trimmers.
I was underwhelmed with all of the shoers I used and I’m not sure any of them will go to Ashland City anyway.
Yeah we seem to be outside of most of the larger farriers’ areas. Unfortunately both walkers are in shoes, but if I could get them to go barefoot I would totally pull them. My TWH hooves are in such bad shape from the thrush right now I may have to pull them anyways. I would appreciate any numbers or contacts you can get me. Thank you!
