Mighty Lite Stall Mats

Does anyone have any experience with Mighty-Lite (or similar) stall mats? My mare has rubber mats in her stall at home, and consequently doesn’t need to be bedded with a ton of shavings. At shows, however, I always heavily bed her stall (4 bags to start for a 10x10 stall) as she will start to develop small sores on her hocks after a night or two of lying down in the matless (but well bedded) stall. I can understand not wanting (or being able) to drag regular stall mats around to each show, but wonder if these light, portable mats would provide the cushion necessary to prevent this rubbing. At an advertised 44 lbs. per mat, they seem like they would be easily portable, but I am wondering if they would be thick enough to make a difference. Any experience?

SmartPak says they’re 12 pounds apiece. The reviews are pretty positive. Seems like they’d be worth a shot.

I have some. They’re 12 pounds apiece–if that-- not 44.
Well worth it if you show, IMHO.

Have 'em, love 'em.

Yeah have them. Love them. My horses love to paw in the stall so they always end up standing on concrete regardless how deep I bed. They are easy to use, easy to setup, and I use much less bedding at shows. Before leaving shows, I drag them to wash stall to hose them off so they don’t stink up to high heaven.

My friend has them and loves them! She just hoses them off after and puts them into a little trailer that she pulls behind her car (so she doesn’t stink up her car with wet rubber mats)! I’m also thinking of getting some as she’s saving a fortune of bagged shavings at shows (especially when we are on concrete!)

We use a 10x10 stall show set from equimat at all of our shows… we got through a 3 day show with one bag of shavings and my horse lies down constantly! here the website! Hope this helps!

Has anyone used the Mighty Lite as permanent stall flooring?
