Tried searching but didn’t see anything recent. What MIPS helmets are people liking for the hunter ring? I need a new helmet, and if there are ever shows again will be doing the A/O’s.
I’ve got a pretty standard Charles Owens oval head, and intend to wear my hair up in my helmet at least to show. It’d be cool if I could keep the price point under $200, but I understand that horse “accessories” cost money.
I looked at the CO options, but they are pricy and my old CO is so hot. I like a traditional look because I have a 15hh horse and that’s enough to ask the judge to look past. That’s all. Would love any suggestions and or pictures!

I wear my trauma void in the hunter ring. I do miss my First Lady some days in terms of comfort.

I have the Charles Owen MyPS and I really like it. I don’t find any helmets particularly cooler than others, but it seems about average as far as that goes.
One K makes a MIPS helmet now, seems to be around $300ish. Looks very similar to the One K that I currently show in (also in the A/O).
The Tipperary Windsor is $250-300. It’s conservative with a wide brim.
Definitely try them on before buying. Not just because of fit. Some helmets just don’t look right on some people. Is that shallow? Sure. But it’s a lot of money to spend to find out that it looks weird when another helmet may have been just as safe while looking great on you.

Thanks for the heads up! Do you think the suede finish would be more desirable than the plastic? I’m inclined toward the dial fit, but suede seems more “traditional”.
Which Trauma Void did you choose?
I love the Tipperary one. Much more attractive than some of the other brands, IMO

If you’ve got a CO-oval head, the TraumaVoid probably will not fit you. I know, I tried it on a couple of times trying to make it work, and it is just way too round. Definitely try it on first, because all of the MIPS helmets I’ve tried have felt like they ran at least two sizes smaller than normal.
Both the CO and the new OneK one look pretty much like their normal helmets, so I wouldn’t think either of those would stand out much.
