Missing donkey, MD

Dorset equine rescue, located in Vermont, pulled 2 donkeys from a kill pen and were in quarantine in Maryland. One has gone missing from the quarantine facility during a storm. Here is the post from Facebook:

It’s now been over two days since our donkey May has gone missing from a quarantine facility in MD. We had pulled 2 donkeys last week from a kill pen in PA which are now named Milo and May. Our friend who is also our neighbor was on his way to pick them up when he was involved in an accident about half way there and his trailer was totaled. Thankfully he is ok. Since the kill pen only allows pick ups on Thursday, we had to scramble to find someone to pick up the two donkeys. We were able to find someone who owns a quarantine facility in MD. She picked them up for us and let us know that Milo, the 6 month old was very sick and she called her vet to come see him. The vet gave him some meds and has been out a few times to check on him. We hear he’s doing a little bit better. On Saturday evening during a storm, May the standard donkey accidentally got out. They tried to catch her but she disappeared into the dark. We are very worried about her and are asking if we have any equine friends in this part of MD to please keep an eye out for her and also share with your equine friends in MD. The barn she was at is on Kitty Lane in Colora, MD. She is surely scared and as we all know, equines can travel a great distance when they get loose, so who knows where she is now. We don’t know that area at all, but if anyone does know it and wants to help search, or has had a sighting of our lost donkey, please call Penny at (267)745-7437 or the Sheriff’s office at (410)996-5500.
Thank you for your help!

This rescue is run by a friend of a friend and is reputable and knowledgeable. I posted with permission in order to reach a larger audience. Someone has to have seen this donkey!
