Missing horse person Melissa Hoffman

Walter McCarter I am her ex-husband and I can tell you that the Granville County Sheriff Dept is looking for her. A Missing Person Report has been filed and they apparently are looking for her truck over a 250 mile radius. I was out on the land today and spoke with the neighbor who buried Max for her. They also have horses and will keep an eye out and let me know if she returns. Thank you all for your kindness to her.

Bumping up a several years old thread about a woman in crisis is crazy. Frankly starting these kinds of threads is ham-fisted and insensitive and puts at risk people at increased risk for a variety of reasons. Answering questions about any person’s whereabouts on a public message board to god knows who is reckless and “incredibly rude and insensitive.”

It’s a less than 1 year old thread about trying to find a missing person. Starting a thread about “hey, have you seen this person?” isn’t really insensitive.

Random dude name looking for woman on a public message board has all the potential to be a stalking situation, and could very well put this woman at risk. Then being bumped up by other random dude name??? Both really non users.

These threads are always a terrible idea, and no one should ever tell some rando on the internet where anyone is. Because as I said above, that’s how you get podcasts.

If you know where this person is, you tell her that some guy is on the internet looking for her. You don’t tell him where she is.

How would you feel if someone on an internet BB told someone, who may be a stalker, or a random stranger, or a psycho ex, your whereabouts?

I know you all mean well, but think it through.
