Much excitement in Southern Pines. 
Misty Kiss, who is now 18 months old, hitched a ride from Carthage to SoPi last week to schmooze with the big names.
To mark the occasion, I got her a new, personalized Quillin halter.
When she came in to the barn to hang out in a stall, Mike gave her a carrot. I offered her a piece of licorice which she also ate, despite initial skepticism.
Later, we turned her out with Nina because Nina is the kinder, less-intense member of the mare family. Or maybe we just think she is because she’s been bossed around mercilessly since birth by her older sister, Zizi. When the little one wandered over to say hello, Nina expanded her personal force field, pinned her ears, and told Misty to get the hell off her lawn.
After the initial froideur, Nina was a bit more welcoming.
In other news, Zizi won the Training section at Paradise two weeks ago, and this weekend we go back to Aiken for Prelim at Full Gallop.
