What’s “trolling the boards”? I want to know what it is because if it is wrong I don’t want to inadvertantly do it. I’m still a newbie here on COTH.Thanks.
Just do a google search for “internet troll” and you’ll have your answer. In short, it’s anyone who deliberately seeks to cause discord on a board.

never heard of the term" internet troll" before. Not real big on the internet except for ebay, USEF, AHJa etc. I kinda wondered if it meant" trolling" for business since business posts/ sale horses aren’t allowed. Thanks for the info
There are a number of COTH’isms that appear on this board - takes a while to learn them, but there is a thread on it in the questions section I think.
I haven’t read this troll’s posts, but in general the term applies - accross the internet, and not exclusively to COTH - to a user who comes onto a BB for personal gain - either to disrupt the board, or to gain emotional support for a pathological need (such as making up personal history to gain attention) or as an employee of an online business which is looking to trick people into visiting their website.
