Monica Thors

A little insight from circa 2000:

My name is Monica Thors, and I am a professional photographer and mother of a 9-year-old son, Matthew. This is my and Matthew’s story of how we battled together to conquer Lyme Disease and regain our health and our lives. Traditional medicine offers no cure for chronic Lyme Disease, but we refused to accept this and just be sick for the rest of our lives.

Sharing this illness with my son was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life. So many emotions came out of the experience – fear of the disease, anxiety about the treatments, worry about money, Matthew’s development, my decisions, and so many other things. We both have endured countless sleepless nights, combined with stress, frustration and hopelessness for many years on our search for cures.

Unfortunately, Matthew’s sickness began while he was still in the womb, as the pathogen that causes Lyme Disease can cross the placenta. Matthew has been alive for just one decade, and he’s already been through more medical turmoil than many people experience in a lifetime. Our journey has taken us through the initial devastation of being diagnosed with serious, incurable illnesses to the lowest psychological depths when we saw no light at the end of the tunnel. There were many moments when we weren’t really sure what was wrong with us. And just when we thought we found a way to get better, we would first get worse.

But the story has a happy ending. My one saving grace was that my partner in sickness was a young child who wasn’t aware of the boundaries of health that traditional medicine has set up for us. When doctors explained that the medication was a treatment but not a cure, Matthew interpreted it as, “You can only get this healthy, but no more.” And he refused to listen. He questioned everything, and made me see the insanity of it. He made me see that there is more than one way of doing things, and that includes beating a serious illness.

Matthew’s viewpoint was naïve, inexperienced and innocent, but it allowed him to view our situation from a different perspective, almost as an outsider. He was able to stand beyond our predicament and see it for what it really was – a road to nowhere.

Above that, Matthew just refused to be sick. He saw it as an injustice. It was a great learning experience for him, as he came to know the way certain things affected his body, and what he had to do to control those things. But along the way he continually asked questions: “Why, why, why?” Why do we have to change our diets? Why can’t I play like the other kids? Why can’t I do well in school? Why does the medicine make me feel bad? Why are we running out of money? Mom, WHY ARE WE SICK?"

His questioning made me realize that I didn’t have any good answers, and neither did any of the doctors we were seeing. The doctors wanted us to accept the fact that we were very sick and were going to be sick forever and on antibiotics. But we didn’t accept it, and we left that realm of traditional medicine, where sickness goes on forever, when the treatments never have to come to an end. We began to be treated by people who thought we could actually get well – who encouraged us and were truly healers in every sense of the word. It took years of reading, experimenting, diet changes, clinics, and dozens of opinions from experts, but we are finally happier and healthier than we’ve ever been.

There are more alternative treatments for illness available to us today than at any other time in human history. Making your way through a maze of unfamiliar territory and healing promises can be overwhelming to someone unfamiliar with the terrain. Here are some of the things Matthew and I have tried that gave us the greatest success.

Thank you for visiting this site and taking the time to read this. Matthew and I sincerely hope that this information gives hope and encouragement to everyone who has had limits placed on their health and healing. We knew there had to be a better way, and we are much healthier for it. It took a lot of courage and determination, but the effort was well worth the outcome. We hope you will join us on the road to optimal health!

The property that the Thors Aging Group is registered to is roughly 4.5 acres and
$1.4 million and change ( 2 Toftrees Court, Princeton, NJ.) Who is the registered owner of that property?.
She took residence there around 2001.

Around May 2014 was the first mention on her website that she’d lost the huge financing for her harness video. Not sure if it was from dragging her feet on it, or pressure due to allegations of abuse.

What does the post about Lymes have to do with anything?

Lyme is totally curable and there is zero evidence that it affects the fetus. Women can get Lyme while pregnant, be treated for it while being pregnant, become cured, and give birth to normal healthy babies.

There is no such thing as chronic Lyme.

To think that she subjected her child to a made up disease, dozens of doctors, treatments, etc makes me sick.

MMM I think it tells quite a bit myself.

You are totally incorrect.

yes, Munchausen and Munchausen by proxy. The articles shows how long she’s been whacked out seeking attention. I’m sure it stems from long before this, though. Her son was a vehicle to keep going with her illness, which isn’t’ Lyme.

Am I the only one who thinks that all this digging for “dirt” on this woman is self serving? The horses are safe, let the authorities handle it.

Internet rubbernecking.

No you are not the only one thinking that. Its a very odd form of attention seeking if you ask me.

You guys are nuts! He is a nobody pot stirrer!
So why did you argue with me in post #461 when I said essentially that in post #460? I think some of you just like to argue and that’s how you get to be “premium”

Is there any updates on this case? The Stop Monica Thors Facebook page has been removed.

It would be nice if there were some official updates. As it stands, the only updates seem to be coming from Monica Thors herself (her personal FB page is public), many of which are deleted and many of which are along the lines of “Look, my horses weren’t lame before they left my place, so if the horses are lame right now someone must be intentionally damaging them!” while showing of a video of a horse clearly lame at the walk at her place.

Poor kid. It is very difficult to raised by a mother with mental illness. The Lyme post was very pertinent to the story. Goodness knows what she did to that child.

Hope the cats got out.

Official update:

“Grand Jury Indicts Monica Thors for Animal Cruelty in Horses’ Deaths”

Thanks for the update. Nothing about the cats, though. That’s not good. With the larger animals gone I think those cats are in a nightmare.

I’m thinking the same thing.

Anyone heard any updates since that? ^ What happened to the cats?

Wow. Thanks, that’s a comprehensive article.

Thats a really sad case of a bat shit crazy. The woman is clearly mentally ill. I feel kind of bad for her, even with all the horrific things she done to the animals. She obviously is not in her right mind. I’d be curious what became of her and where she is now.
And even more curious what became of Mathew?
