Cute but incredibly dangerous! A mother moose will kill in 2 seconds flat, like a bear with cubs.
Such a lovely sight though, the two of them.
So smart of the people at the show to make a car barrier.
I wonder if the presence of a bunch of relatively calm herbivores helped her feel safer. From her perspective, " Oh, look, here’s a bunch of strange looking elk, just hanging out. With some of those smelly two legs. They look relaxed, no one running off, must be a safe place!"
I do find moose to be very cute. Maybe they remind me of homely horses. Lol.
I have a feeling they are probably like a lot of wild animals that live in and around populated areas. They probably get less concerned about humans and human activity. Which does not make it safe to get near them, obviously. But I think they get somewhat acclimated.
Some years ago I saw a moose with her baby grazing in the woods near a road, and a bunch of cars had pulled over to watch them. The moose mom was completely unconcerned about the audience.
They’re just so gigantically big!! I’m used to horse big so moose big makes me feel all whoa n chit.
The long legs on the babies def. remind me of foals, and their long faces are so horse-like. Funny bulbous nose always kills me.
A few years ago I found that there are tons of You-tube videos of moose, mainly the kids, playing in sprinklers and pools.
A mother moose can and will easily kill a human. They are very protective. Cute is cute but don’t know if I’d feel comfortable with their solution.
