Vet’s Choice Holistic Dog Food! Finally something from Long Island we can be proud of. One of my labs is on that and he is looking great. I have to agree with poster about Science Diet, I have a lab who has been on ID for years. He has done great on it, never had a relapse of his stomach issues, and looks years younger then his 10. If he didn’t have his tummy issues, I would have him on Vet’s Choice too!
Thanks for all the suggestions! I will let you guys know what I decide. Now for treats that fall under the same category. I have been feeding him the EVO treats but I believe I read on here they are made by one of the companies to avoid. I have given him baby carrots before but I think he threw them up. I guess I could try again…

I switched my dog from TOTW to Nature’s Variety Instinct and he’s doing great on it. I’m using chicken formula, but I’m pretty sure they have a salmon formula also.
On Dogfoodadvisor.com several people commented that they had issues with their dogs having “sawdust like” stools. When he was on a perscription allergy food(before I found out it was crap) he had trouble going to the bathroom so I’m hesitant to try Nature’s variety.

Old Mother Hubbard makes great, all natural treats. Our dogs love them and I feel good knowing that I’m not feeding them suspect ingredients! Available just about everywhere.

HAHAHAHA! That China would refuse a shipment of chicken from the U.S. based on contamination.
I guess then that they only give a sh*t when it’s coming INSIDE their country and not when it’s going outside.
International trade is about way more than one single issue.
Trade barriers are the way the poker game of international trade is played and finding some, any reason to turn some product back is one more pawn used by all sides.
Nothing is as simple as it seems, we wove a twisted web.
International trade it is a very important, serious game for all countries, one-upmanship some times so important as to be considered part of national security.
Agricultural products are some of the most traded and so important ones.

I’ve given these to other dogs, but they don’t make grain free and they have chicken in them.
Was able to get two trial size bags of Earthborn Holistic. Also picked up a can of pumpkin since he wasn’t able to switch over gradually. Thanks for all the help!

Stewart’s Freeze Dried Liver Treats? Can get at Petco or PetSmart. Sort of spendy, $9.99 for 4 oz., 100% liver, no other ingredients. I bring them home and cut them up into tiny little pieces and it stretches them pretty well. It is always entertaining to get them out and treat my dogs with them. I swear, their little eyes light right up and they smile when they get them.
I like to have them for something special to give them for recall and important training.
If you can find them, my dog digs these treats:

I’m not a big treat person, but my local pet place had these on closeout as they were getting close to the expire date. Picked up a bunch of boxes, and Koa definitely prefers them to others that I’ve tried. And they’re grain free!
My guy swapped from TOTW fish to the Acana salmon with no problem He was eating 3/4 cup TOTW 2x/day, so I fed 1/3 cup Acana with some baked sweet potato for two meals and then went to 1/2-3/4 cup Acana. He’s traditionally been sensitive to rich foods (trying him on EVO was a disaster), but he did just fine
