So, I hadn’t ridden Petey in over three weeks, but was determined to get on him on last time in 2024. Got him tacked up late afternoon, and headed to the indoor ring when it was dark, rainy, and windy as heck. A gal who trailers in to train her cutting horses was there riding one young mare with her other filly tied up at the side of the ring. So, the flag is whirring along, wind is howling, two amped-up youngsters are snorting away, and I’m wondering if I have a death wish — but Petey was perfect

Petey was partying hard last night… woke up with a gash on his forehead and no recollection of the night’s events. At least, he wasn’t willing to talk about it 
. Fortunately seems pretty superficial, and he was a very good boy for our ride 🩷.

Thanks! It’s more than a little untidy right now, but with the winters we get here, I just let them go fluffy and understand that with blankets off and on so often, their manes suffer until the spring. But her color is so fun!
