Mosquito Mesh Fly Sheet?

Do any of you have the Mosquito Mesh V-Free Fly Sheet from Schneider’s Tack? Does it work?

I am trying to allow some wither relief for my Arab, and I am thinking of ordering this. Schnieders website is not allowing me to see the actual reviews, so I can only see it has 4.4 stars. Duribility does not matter to me, as he will wear it in his stall only. I am hoping he doesn’t sweat too much with it on.

I just got it! Happy w/ it so far. Not quite as light as I was expecting but pretty good compared to others I’ve had.

I got it last summer for my 16.3, big bodied WB with high withers. Plenty of room in the withers but gave him awful shoulder rubs no matter how I adjusted or lined it. I ended up selling it since it was too late to return it. I have a Weathabeeta ComfiTec now that fits beautifully, doesn’t rub, and he doesn’t sweat under it either. If your horse is a narrower build, the Mosquito Mesh would probably work out fine, though.

I have a TB/WBx. This sheet started to cause rubs and seemed to pull at the chest no matter how I adjusted it :frowning:

I grabbed one when I was in America a few years ago, and it has basically sat in a storage container in my cellar. I’ve used it on 2 horses and it rubbed both. With one his hair stuck out through the mesh in places? So it was weird. I began just using it when the farrier came so they were not so concerned about the flies on them while they were being worked on, but then I bought some Rambo Fly Busters and never looked back.

I have one and am happy with it. Living in Houston (hot + humid), it is the coolest fly sheet at the barn. The mesh allows more air flow keeping the horse cooler.

My horse is an Azteca and I have not had issues with the shoulder rubbing, however if your horse is between sizes, I would go up. The reason I recommend going up is he is almost too round for the belly strap.

I have a pretty well built Arab, but certainly not a warmblood so I am hoping to stay away from shoulder rubs. I can always up a size if need be.

Do you use it on Warmbloods?

Has anyone had it rub the shoulders of a finely built Arab?

Funny enough, I originally got the ComfiTec and loved it, but my horse sweats in it if it’s over 85 degrees. I find that the mosquito mesh isn’t quite as nice, but my horse stays much cooler in it.

No, P.R.E. Horses.
