Has anybody tried these yet? No reviews that I can find. Looking for a decent schooling boot that is good quality for a moderate price. Any input appreciated!
Love mine. They look good, are comfortable after a reasonable breakin period and seem to wear well.
Cant speak for this model, but I am on my third pair of cheaper ($250 range) MH tall boots. Average life probably 4 years; heels wore down a bit and got some cracks in leather in ankle area. I take TERRIBLE care of my schooling boots, lol. Neither of the first two really died, and in fact I still have one pair as a fallback. Mine all have had a vertical gusset by zipper and I think that is a useful thing, so never have had zipper problems.
These look like the replaced/updated Victoria dress boots. I have a pair of Victorias and adore them. The foot bed is super comfortable, and I love the placement of the zipper in the front.
I can be hard (ish) on boots, in that I do tack up in them, and wear them around the barn including in the washstall, which I know should be kind of verboten. Buuut, I compensate by wiping them down before I take them off every time, conditioning/polishing regularly, and storing them with boot trees. The leather stands up to the abuse I toss at them, and the boots look and feel great.
I currently have a pair of Victoria boots and like kashmere, love them. They are more like the older boots I grew up with - not super stovepipe stiff, but not like so many super soft boots you find today.
@elleng0728 - do the Serenades have a stiffer outer leg, or is it still a bit softer like the Victoria?
Mine too have never died. I have a couple of pairs that have been retired but are still fully functional. I agree that the gusset must help the zipper. The zipper on my Ariats that just have a small gusset broke in a few months. And they weren’t that tight!
I have/had what I think were the Victoria boots…they did not last. I had them probably not even three years. The leather between there the gusset up the leg is and the rest of the boot seperated its leathers and completely wore out. Not impressed, but it was the design of the boots.
The store that I bought them from ended up sending most of the boots they had in stock back to the supplied because no one like how they fit.
Yes they are a stiffer boot. but break in well.
Thanks everyone! Now I need to find someplace that carries them that offers free return shipping in case they don’t fit
