When I was a kid, I read a book about training horses for movies and TV.
It said that the best approach was to take a horse that already had a tendency to be mouthy, and then go on from there. So that eventually when you pointed at something like a phone, or in this case a baseball bat, the horse would pick it up, and then you would reward him.
My mother had a horse when I was a kid who had that tendency. He would pick up a branch or whatever from the ground in the paddock and then try to chase you around with it. He probably would have made a great trick horse! Lol.
When the horse gets up at the end, he definitely has treat ears on. Okay, I did good. Don’t you have something for me?
