Mr Prospector bred horses? Do you have one?
EquineLVR, I saw the canter PA picture of Calling Kris and he’s beautiful!
He is even cooler in person!! and bigger!!! I think he is almost 17 hands! He was super upset when he first got to the barn but he has settled down now like he has lived there all his life.

Went into the indoor ring for the first time ever yesterday with all the jumps, flower boxes etc… and just cruised around like it was all normal.

He needs a lot of weight but I think he is going to be really special.

Quirky Mare!

I have a Mr. P granddaughter. She was raced about 4 times and then retired to pasture. She evidently had a huge problem with the gate. Quirky but very flashy and cute! She is on the smallish side 15.3h. She can be a little spooky at times but usually adjusts fairly quickly. She’s very much a “Ask me before we try” type of mare.

She has been in serious training for about 7 months with my trainer and she just went to her first schooling show this past weekend at 2’6" and ended up with a 3rd, 2- 4th’s and a 5th. Not bad since we trotted some lines and she had never jumped an oxer. She’s not an easy ride, but very forward and scopey. We joked about her show name being “A Long Ride on A Short Bus” however we kept at Caramba. Next stop is the KHP for Robert Murphy.

Do you have a Mr Prospector bred horse? If so, please share what you do with the horse, it’s pedigree and some pictures. Or whatever info you have.

Thanks!
I’ve got a 6yr 17H dark bay Geld-grandson of Mr.Prospector
http://www.pedigreequery.com/gallaslad

He’s a classic,elegant hunter-beautiful head,neck,topline,lovely daisy cutter hack winning mover,and has a great jump…sorry don’t have any good pictures…plus i don’t know how to post them on here anyway:lol:

Belle is a Connemara x TB.

Her (Conn) sire is Fiddler’s Glory Boy, by the great *Grange Finn Sparrow.

Her (TB) dam is French Letters, by French Champagne, by Mr P.
http://www.pedigreequery.com/french+champagne

French Letters is out of Alligator Alley
http://www.pedigreequery.com/alligator+alley

Don’t blame me- I did not name her dam. Surprised the JC permitted it.

You know I do. In fact, now I have two!

my horse of a lifetime is a Mr. P grandson. Heart of gold and can jump the moon. Super athletic - but definitely a jumper, not a hunter. Funny that someone mentioned the knee action - mine looks a bit like a Hackney at times  Competed at AA shows successfully over 4’. LOVES to jump, will not stop at a fence - even if you asked him to lol.

Personality-wise, he is more sensitive than hot. He is definitely not for everyone but if you understand him and click with him - there is nothing he won’t do for you.

That is an accurate description of my mare. “More sensitive than hot”. I can honestly agree with the statement about if you “understand him and click with him - there is nothing he won’t do for you!” We have the knee action too!

My guy is a Mr. Prospector grandson…
Here’s his pedigree

He has done jumpers but his true temperment is huntery… He is very very laid back and love love loves to jump, He’s 17.1 hands

hmmm, looks like a pretty recurring theme with these horses - they love to jump!!

Here’s my Mr. P descendent: http://www.pedigreequery.com/silver+bill

He’s probably the smartest horse I’ve ever known. Though he’s got quite a spook I wouldn’t say he has a screw loose. He’s got too much of a sense of self-preservation for that. He’s also quite stubborn and not the easiest ride but when he’s good he’s very good. He retired sound after a fairly long racing career.

Here’s a video from last winter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuCKZ-SZOcQ

I used to have a TB with Mr. Prospector in his bloodlines. His racing name is Gretels Hero http://www.pedigreequery.com/gretels+hero

He was my hunter - only did 3’ but I’m guessing wouldn’t have held up at 3’6. Perhaps if he wasn’t raced. Anyway, he had a good, consistent jump. He had a big attitude which, coupled with the beginnings of arthritis, made him impossibe to sell. He’s now happily terrorizing the masses at Alfred State University who, I’ve been told, love him despite biting at least one person per week.

Here are some photos from about 4-5 years ago:

I know my guy tolerates the flat part of his lesson… he KNOWS when it is time to jump. He looks toward the next jump and he likes to try to figure out the courses on his own. I swear he listens to the trainer call out the jumps and knows where to go.

I believe if I tried to turn him into a dressage horse he would give me the middle hoof and run away from home.

My horse is by Prospector’s Halo, so he’s a great-grandson:
http://www.pedigreequery.com/black+halo

His picture is in my profile. He’s evented through advanced, and though dressage certainly isn’t his forte, he’s got a spring in his butt and he’s very catty. Funny that he loves to jump so much because he’s a total lazy butt on the flat.

He’s also super-sane. I’ve put boyfriends, children, friends and parents on him and he’s schlepped them all around, even as a 4 y.o. right off the track.

Oh horse-loverz, here’s our girl’s pedigree! Didn’t know we had that in common.

http://www.pedigreequery.com/broke+but+happy

She is point and shoot - will jump anything from anywhere. Just tolerates the flat lessons, but she will be going Training this summer and more next year!

WOW I didn’t know she had Gone West in her too… Explains her and Harry’s similar temperment… and point and shoot attitude!!

He is awesome.

My guy is Mr. P top and bottom. Here is his pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/gone+forever

He is VERY smart and a great jumper. We’re doing lower level eventing right now, but I am definitely the limiting factor on the level, not him! He is mischievous and great on the ground and under saddle. I have owned him for two years now and have loved every minute of it. He is great!

Here are a few pictures of us at a clinic:

Shouldn’t there be a companion thread to this one?
“My TB has no Mr. Prospector in his pedigree…”

I have three of those.
