My tb has the same father as your horse! :D
WOW Really?

What are you doing with yours and what is he/she like?

Me too.

The pure TB is
http://www.pedigreequery.com/spy+illusion

Chief is 50% TB “by blood” with no Mr P.

Music is 3/4 TB. Her TB sire has no Mr P, but I don’t know who her “other quarter” TB is. (ASB Stars would know)
Shouldn’t there be a companion thread to this one?
“My TB has no Mr. Prospector in his pedigree…”

I have three of those.
You have three with no Mr. P? Now that surprises me. I assumed Mr. P was everywhere! I hope viney is reading this thread because I’m curious . . .don’t racing people look for no Mr. P in a pedigree? I could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere.

I have a great-granddaughter. She is by Comet Shine (same sire as Courageous Comet who went to the Olympics this year as an event horse) who’s by Fappiano by Mr. P., and out of a mare by The Minstrel. She’s slightly built, 16 hands, long legged and short coupled. Great feet - she goes barefoot even on our hard CA ground. She’s very quiet on the flat in the ring and while I’m only jumping her about 2’6", she has a ton of scope. Outside on the grass field she can remember that she’s a redheaded TB. Other than that, she’s very sweet, great ground manners and very smart. I don’t know how to post her pedigree, but her name is Sylvie’s Comet if anyone wants to look her up. I just wish I were a better rider now so that I could do more with her.

Here is my boy: http://www.pedigreequery.com/like+a+rock2

He is sensitive, very opinionated, loves to jump and is way too smart for his own good- generally, he thinks he is right and I am not. I don’t know how much of any of that is Mr. Prospector, and how much is his English and Irish on top.

He is just about 16.3, all legs, short back and can “jump the moon,” in my trainer’s words. He’s awesome!

I have a Mr. P grandson and he has the BEST brain of any horse I’ve been around. He’s not super scopey or fancy (I’m thinking the knee action must be a family trait!) but he always goes over the jump no matter what it looks like or what awful spot I’ve gotten him to. He never spooks and he’s exactly the same at shows as he is at home. I’m not the most talented or confident rider so I feel very fortunate to have a horse like him. In fact, I blame my crappy riding on him, he’s so good I don’t have to be!

My horse Bobby is Ninety Deniro’s younger half brother–and they look almost exactly alike! I’m glad he’s an uncle to a lovely foal!

This is the first sibling of his that I’ve seen :D:D:D

No, racing people like to see Mr. P in a pedigree (that’s why it’s in so many of them). Mr P = speed.

We have 14 that are related to Mr. Prospector in one way or another—and 1 that isn’t.

My Mare is a Mr. P g-grand-baby.

She is a little on the nutty side but is pretty good most of the time. As far as jumping she really is cute and I think she’ll enjoy it a bit more with experience. Right now we are still at the x-rail/low v’s stage and figuring what to do with her feet, (she tends to over think things).

She was actually calmer at the show than she was schooling.

I also ride another g-daughter of Mr. P, she is a little Psychotic and I mean that in most loving way.

It’s so funny to me because they are complete opposites in every way.

Mine has Mr. P on bottom and Turn-To on top. http://www.pedigreequery.com/munnings He SHOULD be an uber-athlete; sadly, he is not. He definitely falls into the “more sensitive than hot” category, and is highly opinionated and VERY, very smart!

If I had gotten him before he blew his suspensory on the track (twice :sigh: ), he might have been a fancy hunter. As it is now, he is 13 years old, and although he is sound for all intents and purposes, he seems to prefer keeping his hooves relatively close to solid ground.

He is gorgeous!! I like to see people riding TBs in the big shows

Here is the pedigree of “my” leased horse - I thought I remembered this from his pedigree and sure enough he is a Mr. P great grandson.

pedigree
He is a big boned, solid guy. We do 2’6-2’9 with an occasional 3’ or so, but he jumps the little ones with a real effort and style.

billiebob – that’s too cool! de niro must have stamped his foals! granted, they are only two of quite a few, but what are the chances?

“day” as we call her is due for another foal in july. so your boy bobby will be the uncle of not one, but two[!], foals. this one will be by gatsby, and we have her booked to Banderas for a 2010 foal.

WOW Really?

Yep. Your mare is by Mojave Moon too. I actually looked him up a while ago. HE IS GORGEOUS. I think if you google him, you’ll find his picture on the farm’s website where he stands. It looks as though your mare got those big, giant eyes from him. My Theo has them too.

I am creeping along with my boy in basic dressage. I have had him for about a year and a half. He is my first tb, so there is a learning curve for me. He is so wonderful to work with. I have never ridden such an easy (never mind a green one!) horse-ever. I pop him over crossrails to break things up, and as many have mentioned about these guys, he is like a “point and shoot” kind of boy. Seems to know the drill. I hope to do some dressage shows, and get him out on some hunter paces. Like many have mentioned too, he can have a bit of a strong will, but he is so smart, and figures out when to give in quickly. He is very brave, and (again, like others have said) he is very sensitive, but not hot at all–except when the garbage truck dumps right in front of him.

Our other horse has no Mr. P! And, the two are like night and day.

I have no idea what I was thinking then, apparently I have read one too many articles and am now confused. LOL

Like Madeline said, who doesn’t have one?

Here’s mine, although the Mr. P is waaaay back. I prefer to say I finally have my In Reality.

http://www.pedigreequery.com/miss+dance+music

As others have noted, she is very, very smart.

Here is my guy, Mr. P on both sides, not that it helped his racing career any…

http://www.pedigreequery.com/hopeful+end

I will echo much of what others have said: athletic, very smart, quirky, reactive… he has a big spook “Wah! Monsters! Help!!” but also quick to recover “Oh, just the cat, nevermind…” He is mouthy and pushy and always testing the boundaries, but he was gelded late so that may be a factor. Fortunately for him, he is personable and generally good natured or he might have gone down the road by now. I hope to show hunters with him eventually, but with a full-time job and two teenagers doing non-horsey sports, it will be a while before he is ready for the ring, and I have the time to get him there.

Henn is a grandson of Mr. Prospector. Here’s his pedigree: http://www.pedigreequery.com/dont+know+jack
Henn is aprox. 16.2h and though he won on the track has a serious case of the slows, we’re talking spurs and a whip if you want anything more than a jog. Prior to discovering his career ending injury Henn was in training to be a children’s hunter. Very cute jumper but not a fabulous mover. Had a insanely comfortable canter, even with his “issues” his canter is still a treat to sit. Albeit an extremely rare treat. Back when I first got him he was sweet, quiet and sane. A month later mean and feisty. But after his pain issues were all addressed, he went back to sweet quiet and sane. He is food aggressive in the field. And in the ring has a history of not liking other horses though to my knowledge he’s never done more than make some seriously scary faces. Currently he’s been an angel even when last week someone with no brakes despite being warned kept riding right on our tail  He lives out 24/7 and enjoys easy walk trot rides. Every once and awhile he heads straight for a jump(when free lunging or putzing around undersaddle). I think he does just to watch me freak out  Hes normally not a very lovey dovey horse but with only me hes a complete and utter love bug. I trust him with all my heart and soul. He loves kids and is never happier then when giving bareback pony rides. Here’s on of my favorite pictures of my Muffinman. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=6642453&id=629945612
